How We Work

Installing Across Three States

We install GPS tracking, dash and backup cameras, and Geotab telematics across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina — and we come to you. Almost all of our work happens at a customer's yard, terminal or jobsite rather than at a shop, because taking a revenue vehicle off the road twice to drive it somewhere is usually more expensive than the install itself.

The pages below aren't generic. Every market we serve has its own fleet economy, its own regulatory quirks and its own scheduling reality. A drayage operator in Savannah, a state motor pool in Columbia, a parcel linehaul fleet in Greensboro and a mountain distribution fleet in Asheville have almost nothing in common except that they all need hardware installed correctly the first time. Each city page covers what's actually different about working there.

What changes from state to state?

Georgia requires emissions testing in exactly 13 metro Atlanta counties, and only on gasoline vehicles rated 8,500 lbs GVWR or less — diesel is exempt entirely. Georgia's 88,000 lb heavy-haul allowance for agriculture, forestry, livestock, concrete and granite applies statewide on non-federal highways within 150 miles of origin, except in those same 13 counties. Commercial vehicles at 26,001 lbs or more crossing state lines register through IRP on the Georgia Trucking Portal, not at a county tag office.

South Carolina has required no safety inspection since 1995 and has never had emissions testing. It does limit commercial diesel vehicles rated 10,001 lbs GVWR and above to 10 minutes of idling in any 60-minute period, at $75 per offense — and that statute preempts local ordinances, so the rule is identical statewide.

North Carolina requires an annual safety inspection on every registered vehicle in all 100 counties, and registration cannot be renewed without it. Emissions inspection currently applies in 19 counties, though EPA proposed approval in May 2026 of the state's plan to eliminate it — verify current status with NCDMV before each renewal rather than relying on last year's answer. Diesel vehicles are already exempt from the emissions portion at any age, and the safety inspection is unaffected either way.

If you operate across a state line — Rock Hill into Charlotte, Augusta into Aiken, Columbus into Phenix City — you are running two compliance calendars for what is functionally one fleet. That's common enough here that we treat it as normal rather than unusual.

Do you actually travel to these markets, or is this just a list?

We travel. Almost every job we do happens at the customer's yard, lot or jobsite — that is the whole model, not a courtesy. Our installers are mobile across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, and your vehicles stay where they already are. You are not routing trucks anywhere.

We're not in one of the markets listed. Can you still cover us?

Almost certainly yes. The markets on this page are where we work most often, not a boundary. If you are anywhere in Georgia, South Carolina or North Carolina, call or text us with your location and vehicle count and we will schedule you — we regularly work well outside the named cities, and a fleet a county over from a listed market is routine. Tell us where you are and we will come.

Is there a travel or mileage charge?

Travel is built into the quote up front rather than added afterward. When we price your job we already know where you are, how many vehicles you have and what hardware is going in, so the number we give you is the number. If distance genuinely changes the cost we tell you that in the quote, not on the invoice.

Our fleet runs in more than one state. Can you handle the whole rollout?

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons multi-state fleets come to us. The same team installs to the same standard in all three states, so your Charlotte trucks are wired the way your Atlanta trucks are wired, the platform is configured consistently, and there is one company to call when something needs attention. Fleets running under two states' rules at once get one point of contact rather than three.

Which GPS and camera brands do you install across all three states?

All the major ones, everywhere we work. We are independent and brand-agnostic across every major platform — we install whatever you run. Geotab, Samsara, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx and the rest, plus dash, driver-facing and backup camera systems from most manufacturers, and heavy-duty harness work. Changing platforms? We remove the old hardware as part of the same job.

How far ahead do we need to book, and how many vehicles can you do in a day?

It depends on your mix and where your vehicles sit, not on a fixed rate we quote everyone. A row of vans in a gated yard moves quickly; heavy trucks, camera systems and equipment take longer per unit. Give us your vehicle count, your hardware and your location and we will give you a realistic per-day number and a date. For larger fleets we phase the work so you are never short more vehicles than you can afford to have parked.
