Pick the make, model and year, and we'll take you straight to that vehicle's wiring page.
Don't see your vehicle? Email us the year, make and model and we'll add it.
The Vehicle Wiring Database is our free reference for installers putting GPS trackers, dash cameras and telematics devices into fleet vehicles. Each page covers one vehicle and gives you the wires you actually need for a fleet install, where to find them, and what each one does, laid out so you can read it on your phone with your head under the dash.
Coming next: the 2023 Freightliner Cascadia, then more of the pickups, vans and Class 8 trucks we install on most, including the 2020 and newer Ford Transit, the 2024 and newer Ford F-150, the 2019 and newer Ram 1500, the 2021 and newer Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana, Peterbilt, Kenworth, International and Volvo VNL.
We built every page around the same nine circuits, because those are the ones a GPS tracker, dash camera or telematics unit asks for on almost every install:
Each wire is listed with its color and stripe, the plug and pin it sits in, its polarity, and a plain description of what it does. Every page also shows where the fuse boxes are, the spots on that vehicle where most of the wires meet, and the mistakes we see installers make on it.
Treat every color on these pages as the place to start looking, not the final answer. Before you tap a wire, check it with a digital meter with the key off, with the key on, and with the circuit working. Use a meter rather than a test light on body control module plugs and data circuits, because a test light can load a module circuit enough to cause problems. If what you find does not match the page, trust the meter and tell us, so we can fix the page for the next installer.
Every row on every page is marked as checked or not yet checked. A checked row has been confirmed by our team on a real vehicle. A row that is not yet checked comes from installer-reported or published data that we have not metered ourselves yet.
The best wiring information comes from installers who have had the panels off. If you have photos of the plugs, tap points or fuse boxes on any fleet vehicle, email them to info@apisignalcorp.com with the year, make, model and what each photo shows. We review every photo before it goes up, and we credit you by name, with a link to your company, on every photo we post. If there is a vehicle you need that is not here yet, send us the year, make and model and we will add it to the list.
API Signal has been installing in vehicles for more than 35 years, and we know how much time gets lost hunting for the right wire. Sharing what we know makes every install in the field go better, and it is how we meet the good installers we want to work with. If you install GPS and cameras in Georgia, South Carolina or North Carolina, take a look at our installer network.
We install GPS, cameras and telematics across GA, SC & NC — at your yard, on your schedule.
