Which wires give constant, ignition and ground on a 2022 Ford Super Duty?

On a 2022 Ford Super Duty, take constant power from the Violet/Red wire at the BCM black 22-pin plug G, pin 22 and ignition from the Green/Orange wire at the customer access pigtail behind the passenger kick panel, pin 2, and ground to clean, bare body metal. Meter every wire first.

Written by API Signal, fleet GPS and camera installers for 35+ years across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, installing every major telematics and camera brand. Every wire on this page lists its source.

Test every wire with a meter before you tap it

No wiring information is ever guaranteed. Colors and locations change with trim, options and build date, and the manufacturer can change them in the middle of a model year. We share this as a starting point for installers, and you are responsible for confirming every connection on the truck in front of you.

This page covers the 2022 Ford Super Duty, the last year before the 2023 redesign. Trucks with the 12-inch SYNC 4 screen moved the gateway module behind the screen, and one remote start kit maker leaves those trucks out, so check which screen the truck has.

The body wire colors come from installer tables for a 2020 F-250 and a 2020 F-350, which agree, carried to 2022. The customer access wires come from Ford's 2017 to 2019 bulletin, and owners report the same pigtail on 2020 trucks. Our own team has not yet metered these on a 2022 truck, and each row says so.

Where do I get constant, ignition and ground on a 2022 Ford Super Duty?

Take constant, ignition and ground from the same area. On this truck the passenger kick panel has the body computer's constant feed and Ford's own run/start wire for upfitters, on key and push-button trucks alike.

Option 1 Easiest

Passenger kick panel

Body computer (BCM) and Ford's customer access pigtail, right side of the passenger footwell, behind the trim.

Constant
Violet/Red
BCM black 22-pin plug G, pin 22Always hot, 50A. Two 2020 install tables agree.
Ignition
Green/Orange

Ground
Body ground
Body metal in the passenger kick areaClean, bare metal only. Never the battery negative post.
Ford's run/start wire is on a 5A fuse. Use it as the ignition sense wire, not to power a large load.
Option 2 Key-start trucks
