Wiring Database / Ford / Super Duty / 2017
F-250, F-350 and F-450 pickups and F-350 to F-550 chassis cabs. Key or push-button start. First year of the aluminum-body generation.
On a 2017 Ford Super Duty, take constant power from the Violet/Red wire at the BCM black 22-pin plug G, pin 22 and ignition from the Green/Orange wire at the customer access pigtail behind the passenger kick panel, pin 2, and ground to clean, bare body metal. Meter every wire first.
Written by API Signal, fleet GPS and camera installers for 35+ years across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, installing every major telematics and camera brand. Every wire on this page lists its source.
No wiring information is ever guaranteed. Colors and locations change with trim, options and build date, and the manufacturer can change them in the middle of a model year. We share this as a starting point for installers, and you are responsible for confirming every connection on the truck in front of you.
This page covers the 2017 Ford Super Duty, the first year of the aluminum-body generation. It covers the pickups and the F-350 to F-550 chassis cabs, gas and 6.7L diesel. Trucks came with a regular key or, on upper trims, push-button start. The easiest power spot is the passenger kick panel.
The body wire colors on this page come from installer tables taken from 2020 trucks. Ford changed the gateway and the upfitter interface module for 2020, so those colors are carried back to 2017 with a warning on each row. The customer access wires (run/start, brake, speed, tach, park, neutral, parking brake) come straight from Ford's own 2017 to 2019 bulletin. Our own team has not yet metered these on a 2017 truck, and each row says so.
We send fleet installation work to independent installers. One job goes to one installer. Now adding network partners in North Carolina.
Take constant, ignition and ground from the same area. On this truck the passenger kick panel has the body computer's constant feed and Ford's own run/start wire for upfitters, on key and push-button trucks alike.

Switch and BCM pins from installer-reported wire tables for a 2020 F-250 and a 2020 F-350 on the12volt, which agree. The run/start wire is from Ford's 2017 to 2019 customer access bulletin (Q-256R2).
