Five tools for planning a GPS, telematics or camera rollout. Put your own numbers in — nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere.

Every vehicle taken out of service for an install costs you whatever that vehicle earns or covers in a working day. The gap between installing at your yard and sending vehicles to a shop is usually bigger than the install quote itself.
$0
This counts downtime only. It does not include the install price, hardware, or subscription — those are separate line items you should get quoted properly.
We install at your yard, terminal or jobsite. There is no shop to drive to, which is why the first number is usually the one that applies to us.

Rollout length is driven by three things: what you are fitting, how many crews are working, and how many separate sites the vehicles sit at. Mobilising to a new site costs time that does not shrink with vehicle count.
0
An estimate for planning, not a quote. Upfitted work trucks, existing aftermarket wiring and crowded heavy-truck cabs all push the real number up, and we would rather tell you that before the job than during it.
Tell us vehicle count, vehicle types, whether they can be staged in one place, and whether anything needs removing first. That is enough for a real schedule rather than an estimate.

Fuel is one of the largest controllable costs in a fleet. This works out what a given percentage reduction is worth on your fleet, using your mileage, your economy and your fuel price.
$0
Fuel reduction comes from what you do with the data — idle time, routing, speeding, unauthorised use. Hardware on its own saves nothing. Set the percentage to what you believe you will actually act on.
Whatever platform you choose, the data is only as good as the install. Inputs on the wrong circuit produce confident, wrong numbers.

Cameras earn their keep through incidents that do not become claims, and claims that do not become your fault. This works out the payback period using your own incident history rather than an industry average.
—
Only counts incident cost. It excludes insurance premium changes, which vary by carrier and by your own loss history, and which we will not estimate for you.
Camera footage is only useful if the system is reliable. Most of the drop-offline calls we get are wiring, not hardware.

Fines are the visible cost. The out-of-service time, the re-inspection and the admin behind each violation usually add up to more. Enter your own figures from your inspection record.
$0
This is your own exposure from your own figures. It is not a legal assessment and it does not account for CSA score effects, insurance consequences or intervention thresholds.
Telematics and cameras help with compliance only when the hardware reports reliably and the records hold up. That comes down to the install.
