Which wires give constant, ignition and ground on a 2023 Ford Police Interceptor Utility?
On a 2023 Ford Police Interceptor Utility, take constant power from the White/Red wire at the police control/signal 14-pin connector, center console, pin 1, ignition from the Gray/Blue wire at the same 14-pin connector, pin 14, and ground to the Black/White wire at the gray 6-pin power connector, pins 4 to 6. Meter every wire first.
Written by API Signal, fleet GPS and camera installers for 35+ years across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, installing every major telematics and camera brand. Every wire on this page lists its source.
Test every wire with a meter before you tap it
No wiring information is ever guaranteed. Colors and locations change with trim, options and build date, and the manufacturer can change them in the middle of a model year. We share this as a starting point for installers, and you are responsible for confirming every connection on the truck in front of you.
This page covers the 2023 Ford Police Interceptor Utility. Ford builds police connectors into the center console with battery, run/start, delayed accessory, speed, park and door signals, so a GPS or camera never needs a tap into the truck's own wiring.
We did not find a 2023 Modifier Guide. Ford's 2022 and 2024 guides print the same colors, so they are used here. Our own team has not yet metered these on a 2023 truck, and each row says so.

Where do I get constant, ignition and ground on a 2023 Ford Police Interceptor Utility?
Take constant, ignition and ground from the same area. Ford builds police connectors into the center console of every Police Interceptor Utility, and they carry battery, run/start, delayed accessory, vehicle speed, park and door signals. Use them instead of tapping the truck's own wiring.
Option 1 Easiest
Police control/signal 14-pin
Center console area. Ford's steps: remove the 4 bolts and rear plate between the mounting plate and second row seat, then the 4 nuts and center mounting plate.
Constant
White/Red
Police control/signal 14-pin connector, center console, pin 1B+ Feed #1, always hot. Feeds #2 (Blue/Red, pin 8) and #3 (Violet/Red, pin 11) are on the same plug.
Ignition
Gray/Blue
Same 14-pin connector, pin 14Run/start #2. Pin 7 is run/start #1, but Ford prints its color as "VY-OG", which is not a real Ford code, so meter pin 7 before using it.
Ground
Black/White
Gray 6-pin power connector, pins 4 to 6Ford's ground pins, next to the 14-pin connector.
Accessory
Violet/Gray
Same 14-pin connector, pin 10Delayed accessory feed.
Pin 9 is vehicle speed (Violet/Brown), pin 12 park detect (Green) and pin 13 driver door ajar (Green/Violet). Ford lists this plug as gray; one read of the guide called it white, so check the plug.
Option 2 Heavy loads
Gray 6-pin power connector
Same console area, beside the 14-pin connectors. Three 40A battery feeds and three grounds.
Constant
Blue/White
Gray 6-pin power connector, center console, pin 1B+ 40A. Pin 2 is Yellow and pin 3 Brown/Red, also 40A battery feeds.
Ignition
Not on this plug
Use the 14-pin connector (Option 1)The 6-pin power connector has no run/start pin.
Ground
Black/White
Gray 6-pin power connector, pins 4 to 6Three ground pins.
For a GPS or camera, a feed from Option 1 is plenty. Save the 40A feeds for lights, radios and computers.
All colors from Ford's 2022 and 2024 PIU Modifier Guides (no 2023 guide found), printed as text and matched on every read. An upfit harness maker (PokeAndWrap) warns that on some 2020 and newer trucks the input colors do not match the upfitter pigtail, so meter every pin.
