Which wires give constant, ignition and ground on a 2015 Ford Transit?
On a 2015 Ford Transit, take constant power from the Blue/Red wire at the ignition switch, black 7-pin plug, pin 4 and ignition from the Brown/Yellow wire at the ignition switch, black 7-pin plug, pin 1, and ground to clean, bare body metal. Meter every wire first.
Written by API Signal, fleet GPS and camera installers for 35+ years across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, installing every major telematics and camera brand. Every wire on this page lists its source.
Test every wire with a meter before you tap it
No wiring information is ever guaranteed. Colors and locations change with trim, options and build date, and the manufacturer can change them in the middle of a model year. We share this as a starting point for installers, and you are responsible for confirming every connection on the truck in front of you.
This page covers the 2015 Ford Transit, the first year of the full-size Transit in the US, replacing the E-Series van. It covers the cargo van, passenger wagon, cutaway and chassis cab. The easiest power spot is the ignition switch plug on the steering column.
We did not find a wire table taken from a 2015 van. Install kits treat 2015 to 2019 as one van, so the colors come from 2017, 2018 and 2019 tables that agree on the key wires. Our own team has not yet metered these on a 2015 van, and each row says so.

Where do I get constant, ignition and ground on a 2015 Ford Transit?
Take constant, ignition and ground from the same area. On this van the ignition switch plug on the steering column has constant, ignition, accessory and start in one spot.
Option 1 Easiest
At the ignition switch
Steering column, black 7-pin plug. Remove the lower column shroud. Install kits list 2015 to 2019 Transits as key start.
Constant
Blue/Red
Ignition switch, black 7-pin plug, pin 4Always hot, 15A (fed from BCM fuse 3).
Ignition
Brown/Yellow
Ignition switch, black 7-pin plug, pin 1Hot in run and start. Three sources agree.
Ground
Body ground
No ground at the switchUse clean, bare body metal under the driver dash. Never the battery negative post.
Accessory
Violet/Green
Ignition switch, black 7-pin plug, pin 6Hot in accessory and run
Start
Blue/White
Ignition switch, black 7-pin plug, pin 7Hot only while cranking
Key sense is Blue/Gray (+) on pin 5. Brown/Yellow is also a park light and the hazard wire at the BCM, so go by plug and pin.
Option 2 BCM
At the body control module
The BCM is built into the dash fuse panel, behind the trim panel below the steering wheel, left of the column.
Constant
Violet/Red
Body control module, lower dash left of the steering columnAlways hot. Installer-reported on a 2017 Transit 250. A 2019 table lists Yellow/Red (60A) on the BCM black 2-pin plug instead, so meter it.
Ignition
Not found
Not found at the BCMTake ignition from the switch (Option 1), Brown/Yellow on pin 1, a few inches away.
Ground
Body ground
Body metal under the driver dashClean, bare metal only.
The two installer tables disagree on the BCM constant color. Meter before you tap.
Switch pins from an installer-reported wire table for a 2019 Transit on the12volt (fetched twice, matched) and the iDatalink install guide for a 2018 Transit, which agree. A 2017 Transit 250 install on the12volt matches the ignition, accessory and start colors.
