Which wires give constant, ignition and ground on a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV?
On a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV, take constant power from the battery distribution unit, on the 12V battery under the hood (wire color not published), ignition from the right instrument panel fuse block, empty slot F22DR (wire color not published), and ground to clean, bare body metal. Meter every wire first.
Written by API Signal, fleet GPS and camera installers for 35+ years across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, installing every major telematics and camera brand. Every wire on this page lists its source.
Test every wire with a meter before you tap it
No wiring information is ever guaranteed. Colors and locations change with trim, options and build date, and the manufacturer can change them in the middle of a model year. We share this as a starting point for installers, and you are responsible for confirming every connection on the truck in front of you.
This page covers the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Truck (WT).
This page is short. The truck is electric and has no ignition switch, so GM publishes a method for power and not an ignition wire. Constant power comes from a GM fuse kit at the 12V battery, and run power comes from a fuse tap in empty slot F22DR. The only wire colors GM prints are the six switched outputs on upfitter plug X79A, on trucks that have it. No turn, brake, reverse, door or CAN wire was found. Our own team has not yet metered these on a 2025 truck.

Where do I get constant, ignition and ground on a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV?
GM gives a method for constant and run power. It does not give a wire color for either one.
Option 1 Constant and ignition
GM power provisions
Fuse kit at the 12V battery for constant. Fuse tap in slot F22DR for run power.
Constant
Fuse kit, color not published
Battery distribution unit, on the 12V battery under the hoodGM gives no wire color. Its method is fuse kit part number 84669070 with a small 60 amp fuse, fitted at the battery distribution unit. Disconnect the 12V negative cable first.
Ignition
Fuse tap
Right instrument panel fuse block, empty slot F22DRGM gives no wire color. Its method is a fuse tap in the empty F22DR slot, with a 10 amp or smaller fuse in both slots of the tap. Live in run mode.
Ground
Body ground
Body metal near the deviceClean, bare metal only. GM names no ground point for added equipment.
From GM. This truck has no ignition switch and GM publishes no ignition wire, so the fuse tap is the run source. The owner manual puts this fuse block behind the glove box, reached by taking off the hush panel under it. The upfitter guide says it is inside the glove compartment.
Option 2 Switched outputs
Upfitter plug X79A
Only on Work Trucks built with the upfitter accessory provision, GM option code VBP. Gray 8-way sealed plug.

From the plug table in the GM upfitter guides, the same in 2025 and 2026. These are switched outputs for added equipment. They are not a constant feed and not an ignition feed. Pins 7 and 8 are empty. GM does not say in text where this plug sits on the truck.
