Which wires give constant, ignition and ground on a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD and GMC Sierra HD?

On a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD and GMC Sierra HD, take constant power from the Red/Yellow wire at the upfitter plug X61A, pin 7 and ignition from the Violet/White wire at the upfitter plug X61A, pin 11, and ground to clean, bare body metal. Meter every wire first.

Written by API Signal, fleet GPS and camera installers for 35+ years across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, installing every major telematics and camera brand. Every wire on this page lists its source.

Test every wire with a meter before you tap it

No wiring information is ever guaranteed. Colors and locations change with trim, options and build date, and the manufacturer can change them in the middle of a model year. We share this as a starting point for installers, and you are responsible for confirming every connection on the truck in front of you.

This page covers the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD and the GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD, including the 3500HD chassis cab, the last year of this body (the 1500 changed in 2019, the HD in 2020). The easiest power spot is GM's upfitter plug in the driver footwell, which has constant, ignition, ground and speed on one plug.

Colors come from the iDatalink guide for 2017 to 2019 HD trucks and GM's upfitter bulletins, which cover the 2019 old-body HD. We only list wires an HD source confirms, so some rows say not found. Our own team has not yet metered these on a 2019 truck, and each row says so.

Where do I get constant, ignition and ground on a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD and GMC Sierra HD?
