Which wires give constant, ignition and ground on a 2025 Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and 600?

On a 2025 Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and 600, take ignition from the Blue/Violet wire at the blunt-cut upfitter wires in the cab, near the park brake, circuit 10721, and ground to clean, bare body metal. Meter every wire first.

Written by API Signal, fleet GPS and camera installers for 35+ years across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, installing every major telematics and camera brand. Every wire on this page lists its source.

Test every wire with a meter before you tap it

No wiring information is ever guaranteed. Colors and locations change with trim, options and build date, and the manufacturer can change them in the middle of a model year. We share this as a starting point for installers, and you are responsible for confirming every connection on the truck in front of you.

This page covers the 2025 Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and BrightDrop 600 electric vans.

This page is short. The van is electric and has no ignition switch. The wires GM publishes for added equipment are five blunt-cut wires in the cab near the park brake: one ignition wire, two relay control wires and two relay outputs. No constant wire color and no turn, brake, reverse, door or CAN wire was found. Our own team has not yet metered these on a 2025 van.

Where do I get constant, ignition and ground on a 2025 Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and 600?

All five wires are in one blunt-cut bundle in the cab, near the park brake.

Option 1 Ignition

Upfitter ignition wire

One 10 amp fused wire that is live in run mode.

Constant

Not foundNo constant wire color was found. GM bulletin 188 covers adding a battery feed, but it is pictures only. The relay outputs in option 2 are live only while their relay is switched on.

Ground

From GM. This van has no ignition switch. GM gives this blunt-cut wire as the run power source for added equipment. GM lists these wires under upfitter option code 9L7, so not every van may have them.
Option 2 Relay outputs

Upfitter relay wires

Two relay control inputs and two fused outputs, in the same bundle.

Relay 1 control
Blue/White
Blunt-cut upfitter wires in the cab, near the park brake, circuit 10716Input. You feed 12 volts to this wire to switch relay 1 on. No switch is included.
Output 1
Blue
Blunt-cut upfitter wires in the cab, near the park brake, circuit 10731Relay-controlled output, 30 amp fused, fed from the 12V battery. Listed right after relay 1 in the GM table.
Relay 2 control
Violet/Gray
Blunt-cut upfitter wires in the cab, near the park brake, circuit 10717Input. You feed 12 volts to this wire to switch relay 2 on. No switch is included.
Output 2
Gray/Black
Blunt-cut upfitter wires in the cab, near the park brake, circuit 10732Relay-controlled output, listed right after relay 2 in the GM table. The bulletin says 30 amp in its text and 10 amp in its table, so check the fuse on the van.
From the same GM table. The outputs stay on with the van off for as long as their relay is switched on. GM says the ignition wire can be used to feed the relay control wires when you want an output live only in run mode.

Wire colors and circuit numbers from GM upfitter bulletin 196b (model year 2024 and newer) and the GM BrightDrop upfitter guides for 2025 and 2026, which print the same five wires.

Not foundNo CAN wire color or diagnostic port pin was found. One telematics maker fits this van with a 16-pin T-harness at the diagnostic port. GM says the modules on this van check each other with serial data authentication, and that a tracker left on the diagnostic port may interfere with vehicle systems.
