We install vehicle GPS tracking, dash cams, backup cameras and telematics on City of Pensacola and Escambia County fleets, from Pensacola Energy gas service trucks and sanitation units to patrol vehicles and airport and port support trucks, at the city fleet shop or any department yard.
For a city of 53,817 people on 22.67 square miles of land, Pensacola runs an unusual amount of business. Its 2025 annual financial report lists four city enterprises: a natural gas utility, a sanitation collection system, a seaport and an international airport. Each one has its own vehicles, and all of them lean on the same fleet shop.
Pensacola Energy is the biggest of the four on the road. It supplies natural gas to an average of 46,700 service connections, and in fiscal 2025 its own construction crews laid nine miles of new gas main. Its 2026 appropriations come to $66.1 million. Gas crews answer leak calls, so knowing which truck is closest is a safety question as much as a cost one.
Sanitation is mandatory inside city limits and serves about 22,000 customers. In fiscal 2025 it collected 19,205 tons of solid waste, 11,994 tons of green waste and 189 tons of recyclables. Fleet and sanitation sit together in the city's organization, and the Fleet Maintenance Division covers everything from heavy trucks and construction equipment to field service and towing. In fiscal 2025 it completed 1,797 light vehicle repairs and 2,043 heavy duty repairs, and it tied its asset management program into finance reporting to track cost over each vehicle's life.
Public Works crews look after 332 miles of city roadway, and the airport handled 3.12 million passengers while the port moved 433,513 tons of cargo in the same year.
Every major telematics and dash cam platform, fitted at the city fleet shop, a utility yard or a county site.
GPS fleet tracking on gas service trucks, sanitation units, pickups and heavy equipment, plus battery trackers on trailers, compressors and generators.
Dash cam installation on utility and public works trucks, and backup camera installation on sanitation units reversing into alleys and cul-de-sacs.
Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Zonar and more, with driver ID and engine hours where the city wants them.
Because the closest crew should take the leak call. With 46,700 connections spread across the service area, dispatch needs to see every Pensacola Energy truck on one map, not phone around for it. GPS fleet tracking also logs arrival time at each call, which is the record a utility wants when a response time is ever questioned.
The usage side. The fleet already connects repairs to finance for lifecycle costing. A telematics gateway adds engine hours, idle time and miles for every unit, so cost per mile and cost per hour come from real data instead of an annual odometer reading.
Yes. Pensacola Police is moving from black-and-white Chevy Tahoes to solid silver Ford Explorers, saving about $8,500 a vehicle, and the change happens through normal replacement over about three years. That steady flow suits us: we fit AVL and GPS on each new Explorer as it comes through upfit, kept clear of the lighting and siren wiring, so the whole patrol fleet ends up on one standard.
The county already runs its own program. Escambia County Fleet Maintenance runs GPS monitoring for all county departments, along with 32 storage sites, nine fueling islands and 14 generator sets. We install for county departments as their vehicles turn over, and for city departments, which run through the city's own fleet shop.
City yards, the airport, the port and Escambia County sites.
Fleet shop, utility yard, airport or county site: we install where the vehicles are already serviced.
Budget per vehicle, split by type. Light pickups and patrol cars are straightforward; gas service trucks with driver ID and sanitation units with backup cameras take longer, and we quote each group once we see the list.
Yes. We fit GPS gateways, AI dash cams, backup cameras and driver ID readers on gas service trucks and work around the utility's crew schedule.
Yes. We install every major platform, so a city department can stay on the same system as the county if it wants shared reporting.
Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Zonar, Azuga and the other major platforms. We are an independent Geotab Authorized Installer, so the platform choice stays with the city.
Yes. We install on airport and port support vehicles on site and follow each facility's access and escort rules.
