API Signal installs fleet GPS trackers, AI dash cams and telematics for businesses across Fort Myers and Lee County, at your yard or job site, from the River District and McGregor to Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, Estero and Bonita Springs. If you searched for dash cam installation near me, we fit roofing and construction crew pickups, dump trailers, debris haulers and trades fleets with 1 to 10 vehicles or many more.
Fort Myers is a construction market. An analysis of 2024 federal labor data reported by Gulfshore Business found 16.2% of the Cape Coral and Fort Myers workforce is employed in construction, the highest share of any U.S. metro. Roofers, framers, drywall, concrete, electrical, plumbing and HVAC crews all run pickups, and most of them pull a trailer.

A lot of that work is still rebuilding. The National Hurricane Center's report on Hurricane Ian says it made landfall on Cayo Costa on September 28, 2022 at 130 knots, with peak surge of 10 to 15 feet above ground at Fort Myers Beach, and that 36 of the 41 surge deaths were in Lee County. WGCU reported Lee County had collected more than 4 million cubic yards of debris by early December 2022, more than double the roughly 1.8 million after Irma.
The area keeps growing. Census estimates put the City of Fort Myers at 101,581 people on July 1, 2025, and Lee County at 875,607, and Southwest Florida International Airport handled a record of more than 11.15 million passengers in 2025. The Bureau of Labor Statistics counted 29,726 business establishments in Lee County at the end of 2025.
Every major platform, fitted at your yard or job site anywhere in Lee County.
Trackers on crew pickups, dump trucks, box trucks and vans, plus battery trackers on dump, equipment and enclosed trailers.
Road-facing and driver-facing AI dash cams, and backup camera installation at the hitch for crews that tow every day.
Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Zonar and more, with PTO and body-up inputs where you need them.
Because on a roofing job the trailer stays and the truck leaves. Crews drop a dump trailer for tear-off and move on to the next house. A tracker on the truck says nothing about which job the trailer is sitting at. A battery tracker on the trailer reports on its own, hooked or not, and helps if a trailer goes missing.
In unincorporated Lee County, mostly not. Lee County Ordinance 19-08, adopted May 7, 2019, bars parking commercial trucks in residential districts, covering semis, trucks with two or more rear axles, and trucks or truck-and-trailer combinations over 15,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating. Daytime service calls and deliveries are an exception. The ordinance covers unincorporated areas such as Lehigh Acres and North Fort Myers, not the City of Fort Myers. That is one more reason we install at the yard or the job site during the day.
WGCU reported in September 2026 that a 21-mile widening of I-75 from Golden Gate Parkway to Alico Road, with optional toll express lanes in each direction, was slated to begin in fall 2026 on a three-year timeline. The state put $578 million toward widening I-75 from six to eight lanes between Golden Gate Parkway and Corkscrew Road. Trip history shows which crews are losing time in the work zone.

Yes. Equipment World reported the $328 million Sanibel Causeway rebuild was completed in 2025 after Ian destroyed the causeway. Trades crews working Sanibel and Captiva reach the islands over the causeway, so a geofence on it shows exactly when each truck arrived on the island and when it left.
