We install vehicle GPS tracking, dash cams, backup cameras and telematics on City of Miami and Miami-Dade County fleets, from new electric pickups and leased police units to solid waste trucks and water and sewer service vehicles, working at the GSA shops, a county maintenance shop or any department yard.
Two governments run vehicles here, and they are very different sizes. The City of Miami's Fleet Management division, part of the General Services Administration, looks after more than 3,000 city vehicles and pieces of equipment. Its shop and fuel facility sit at 1390 NW 20 Street, where it pumps more than a million gallons of fuel a year, with separate light and heavy fleet shops open from 6:30 in the morning to 9:30 at night on weekdays.
Miami-Dade County is roughly four times that. A County memo dated January 21, 2026 counts about 12,102 vehicles, not including transit buses: 8,177 light and 3,925 heavy. About 1,821 of them are ten years old or more. To keep that fleet running the County operates 29 fuel sites and 19 maintenance shops spread across more than 2,000 square miles.
Both are buying in volume right now. In July 2026 the City Commission voted 5 to 0 to lease up to $150 million in new vehicles. The first order, about $47.6 million, covers 27 fire rescue vehicles, 53 solid waste vehicles including automated side loaders, and 232 marked police vehicles. The County's buying authority for the 2025 to 2026 fiscal year is 999 vehicles, 511 of them replacements.
New vehicles are the cheapest time to fit telematics. Nothing has to come back out of service later, and the wiring goes in before upfitters fill the dash with radios and lighting controls.
Every major telematics and dash cam platform, installed at the GSA shops, a county shop or the department yard.
GPS fleet tracking on electric and gas pickups, sedans, vans, sweepers and heavy trucks, plus battery trackers on trailers, pumps and generators.
Road-facing and driver-facing AI dash cams, and backup camera installation on refuse trucks and service bodies working narrow streets and alleys.
Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Zonar and more, with EV battery data, PTO and arm inputs where the platform supports them.
Battery data first, then location. In the 2024 to 2025 fiscal year about 39% of the eligible light vehicles the County bought were fully electric, just short of a 40% goal, and the goal for 2025 to 2026 is 50% or more. A GPS unit that reads state of charge, range and charging stops tells the fleet office which routes those vehicles can really cover, which is the question every department asks before it gives up a gas truck.
No, it makes it easier to check. County solid waste trucks are set to shut the engine down after five minutes of idling. Telematics shows whether that setting is doing its job on every truck, and catches the units where it has been changed or never set.
They are part of the plan. The Solid Waste business plan for 2025 to 2026 describes a fleet telematics driver safety system with exterior and interior facing video, GPS and sensors, on a contract shared with Transportation and Public Works. Whatever system a department chooses, the hard part is the install across hundreds of trucks, and that is the part we do.
They come first. County Solid Waste serves more than 350,000 households in its collection area and handles debris there after hurricanes. After Irma the County estimated 3 million cubic yards of storm debris. We plan installs on collection and debris trucks outside storm windows, in small groups, so routes stay covered.

City shop, county shop or department yard: we install where the vehicles are serviced or parked.
It depends on the mix. A sedan or pickup is a short per-vehicle job, while refuse trucks with arm inputs and police units take longer. Send us the counts by vehicle type and the platform, and we will price it per unit.
Yes. Leased units get the same install, and we keep the wiring tidy and documented so the vehicle can go back at the end of the lease without damage.
Yes. We fit GPS units and dash cams on electric pickups, sedans and SUVs, and set them up to report battery data where the vehicle and the platform allow it.
Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Zonar, Azuga and most other platforms. We are an independent Geotab Authorized Installer and install whatever the department has chosen.
Yes. We can work alongside the shop technicians on their service schedule, so vehicles do not need a separate trip off the road.
Tell us the department, how many vehicles of each type and the platform you use, and we will come back with a plan that fits around your shop schedule.
Send us the departments, the unit count and your best install windows, and we will come back within 24 hours.
