We install AVL, vehicle GPS tracking, dash cams, backup cameras and telematics on City of West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County fleets, from fire pumpers and police take-home cars to sanitation side loaders and utility trucks, working at the station, the city shop or any county facility.
West Palm Beach keeps most of its services in house. It runs its own fire department, with nine stations and more than 320 uniformed firefighters, about 90% of them paramedics. Station 2 houses the regional hazardous materials team and Station 5 the Emergency Operations Center and technical rescue team. The department answered more than 30,000 calls in the last year.
The city also runs its own sanitation division for homes and businesses, and its own water plant, which serves more than 34,000 retail and commercial customers in West Palm Beach and the Towns of Palm Beach and South Palm Beach. Over 500 miles of sewer pipe sit under the city.
You can see that in what the city has bought. Government Fleet reported that purchases across fiscal 2022 and 2023 included seven automated side loader refuse trucks, six front load trucks, five grapple trucks, six F550 dumps, three pumpers, seven rescue units, a tractor drawn aerial and two street sweepers. The FY26 budget sets aside $2 million for vehicles and adds 27 sworn police officers, the most in a single budget in recent memory.
Palm Beach County runs about 3,000 more vehicles and pieces of equipment through Facilities Development and Operations, and the Sheriff's Office was named the number one public fleet in NAFA's 100 Best Fleets for 2025.
AVL and every major telematics and dash cam platform, installed at the station, the shop or the yard.
AVL on fire apparatus and rescue units, GPS fleet tracking on refuse trucks, pickups and sedans, and battery trackers on trailers and portable pumps.
Road-facing and driver-facing AI dash cams, and backup camera installation on side loaders, grapple trucks and apparatus that back into stations.
Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Zonar and more, with pump, arm and PTO inputs where the department wants them.
Because the county does the dispatching. West Palm Beach is a dispatch-only city for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue: the county takes the call and sends the unit, and the city's own department responds. Automatic vehicle location on every engine and rescue keeps the dispatch map accurate, so the closest unit really is the one sent.
One unit at a time, at the station. We work with the shift so the apparatus can go back in service quickly if a call comes in, and we keep our wiring off the lighting and siren circuits entirely. If a spare engine is available, we install on the spare first and swap.
It helps with vehicles. The 2022 audit follow up noted there had been no independent physical inventory of city vehicles and equipment, and that police had begun issuing take-home cars to all sworn employees. A unit that checks in every day is an inventory that keeps itself, and it shows where each take-home car is parked overnight.
They stop, then restart at full speed. The city suspended all sanitation service on October 10, 2024 for Hurricane Milton. Live fleet tracking on side loaders and grapple trucks shows dispatch which streets have been covered once collection and debris work resume.

Station, shop or yard: we install where the apparatus and vehicles are kept.
Apparatus installs are quoted per unit because every body is different. Tell us the apparatus types and the AVL or telematics system, and we will price each one along with any sedans and trucks.
No. We power our equipment from a separate fused circuit and leave the warning systems exactly as the builder or upfitter installed them.
Yes. We fit GPS units and dash cams on side loaders and front loaders and can wire an arm or PTO input so each pickup is recorded.
Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Zonar, Azuga and most other telematics and dash cam platforms. We are an independent Geotab Authorized Installer and work with whichever system the city chose.
