Conway is the inland hub of Horry County and one of the fastest-growing cities in South Carolina. Census estimates put it at 30,627 residents in July 2025, up 22.2% from the 24,849 counted in 2020. Most of that growth lands in new subdivisions along US 501, SC 544 and out toward Carolina Forest, and every one of them keeps framers, site-work crews, electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs and pest control trucks driving to addresses that did not exist a couple of years ago.

A large share of the work here is owner-operators and trades businesses running 1 to 10 vehicles: roofers, landscapers, pool service companies, couriers, towing operators and the service vans that follow the builders into each new street. We install for these businesses with the same technicians and the same standard we use on a large rollout, and we usually finish every vehicle in one visit before your crews head out.

The larger fleets are anchored by healthcare, education and the builders that serve them. Conway Medical Center has 222 inpatient beds and nearly 2,000 staff on Singleton Ridge Road. Coastal Carolina University enrolled a record 11,881 students in fall 2025, its third record year in a row. McLeod Health is opening a four-story, 48-bed hospital in Carolina Forest in fall 2026, the first new hospital in Horry County since 2011. That keeps medical couriers, patient transport vans, food service and linen trucks, and contractors running between Conway and Carolina Forest every day.

Inland Horry County also has a real industrial base. Canfor Southern Pine runs a sawmill on US 501 in Conway that makes dimension lumber, and Metglas makes amorphous and nanocrystalline metal products on Allied Drive. Ascott Valley Industrial Park near SC 22 and US 701, between Conway and Loris, is fully occupied and has added a 100,000 square foot speculative building, while Cool Springs Business Park near Aynor has about 60 acres ready for heavy industry. Horry is also the top tobacco county in the state, so farm trucks around Aynor, Loris and Green Sea are part of the mix too.

What We Install in Conway

What we install on Conway-area fleets

Built for job-site trucks, daily US 501 commuters and mill traffic, on whichever platform you run.

GPS Fleet Tracking

Live location and trip history for builder pickups, service vans, log trucks and delivery units working between Aynor, Loris, Conway and Carolina Forest. We set up geofences for each new subdivision as you break ground, and we install Samsara, Motive, Verizon Connect, Geotab, Powerfleet, CalAmp and other platforms.

Dash & Backup Cameras

Forward and driver-facing cameras for vehicles that spend the day on US 501 and SC 22, plus backup and side cameras for trucks reversing into tight new-construction lots and mill yards. We install Lytx, Netradyne and the camera lines from the major telematics brands, with cables secured so they hold up on gravel and dirt roads.

Telematics & Integrations

Engine hours, fault codes, PTO use and ELD hookups reported from the truck, so the office sees what each unit is doing without a phone call. We tap ignition and PTO on the correct circuits and document every vehicle, so the data lines up with your payroll, job costing and maintenance records.

Conway-Specific Considerations

What makes fleet installs around Conway different?

How do you track a builder's fleet when the job sites keep moving?

We treat each subdivision as its own geofence and add new ones as you break ground. Horry County issued permits for 6,511 new housing units in 2025 and 7,331 in 2024, so the streets your framers, plumbers and site crews drive this month are often missing from last year's maps. A fleet tracked only against a fixed list of customer addresses misses most of what happens in a day.

At install we wire the device so it records stop time accurately at each site, and we name the units the way your crews talk about them. We install at your shop before the morning roll-out or at a job site during the day, on pickups with ladder racks, utility bodies and dump beds, and we mount devices where a tool box or a later rack build-out will not bury or crush them.

Will the US 501 widening get in the way of install day?

No, because we come to your yard, so your trucks never sit in the work zone waiting on us. SCDOT is widening US 501 from four lanes to six between SC 544 and Myrtle Ridge Drive. Work started in September 2024, completion has been pushed back to spring 2027, and nighttime lane closures resumed after Labor Day.

The tracking pays off right away on this road. Once the devices are in, trip history shows how much time each truck is losing on 501 compared with running SC 22, so dispatch can move early routes to the bypass with real numbers behind the decision. We also set speed and idle alerts so that crawling through a work zone does not fill your inbox with false alarms.

What is different about log trucks hauling into the Conway sawmill?

Log trucks take more vibration, bark dust and weather than almost any other vehicle in the county, so the install has to be built for that. Canfor Southern Pine has run its Conway mill on US 501 since buying it in 2006, and when the company closed its Darlington and Estill sawmills in 2025, Conway stayed open. The trucks feeding it keep coming out of the woods around Aynor, Galivants Ferry and Loris.

We mount trackers inside the cab, never on the frame or the bunks, protect every harness from grit and chafing, and use fused, sealed taps. Woods roads can have weak cell signal, so we set devices to hold trip data and send it once they reach coverage, and we place the antenna where the load and the headache rack will not block its view of the sky.

Should fleets in the Aynor and Loris industrial parks wait for I-73?

No. I-73 is still in the planning and land-buying stage, and your trucks need tracking now. SC 22, the Conway Bypass that opened in 2001, is slated to become part of I-73. Horry County's RIDE IV program has set aside local money for the stretch from SC 22 to the county line, but that money depends on construction contracts being secured, and in February 2026 SCDOT was still acquiring right-of-way between the Little Pee Dee River and SC 22.

Until then, trucks leaving Cool Springs Business Park have about 37 miles of two-lane and four-lane road to cover before they reach I-95. We install platforms that keep full route history, so when I-73 does open you can compare drive times before and after on the same data. For trucks heading into North Carolina whose drivers keep hours-of-service logs, we wire the ELD to the diagnostic port correctly so the logs match the truck.

Questions From Conway Fleet Managers

What do Conway public fleet managers ask us?

Do you install for a Conway business with only 1 to 10 vehicles?

Yes. A roofing company with three pickups off US 701 or a pest control business with eight vans in Carolina Forest gets the same technicians and the same install standard as a large fleet. In most cases we finish every vehicle in a single visit to your shop or yard, and your trucks are back on the road the same day.

Which GPS and camera platforms do you install around Conway?

All the major ones, including Samsara, Motive, Verizon Connect, Geotab, Lytx, Netradyne, Powerfleet and CalAmp. Conway fleets that grew quickly during the building boom often end up with two or three systems after buying another company or adding trucks in a hurry, and we install and label each one so every vehicle shows up where your office expects it.

Can you install at a job site instead of our shop?

Yes. We work from our service vehicle at a job site, supply yard or mill yard, as long as the truck can stay parked with the keys available while we work. Many builders around Conway prefer a mid-morning slot after crews are dropped off, so no one loses working time.

Can tracking show when a truck leaves a job site early?

Yes. With a geofence around each site and ignition wired to the correct circuit, the system logs when every truck arrives and leaves, and it can send an alert if a vehicle leaves during working hours. We set the alerts at install so they match your crews' actual schedule.

What happens when we sell a truck or add new ones mid-season?

We pull the hardware from the outgoing vehicle, test it and move it to the new one, or fit a new device if that makes more sense. The history stays tied to the right vehicle record on your platform, so nothing is lost when your fleet changes.
