API Signal installs fleet GPS trackers, dash cameras and telematics for Fayetteville and Cumberland County businesses at their own yards, shops and job sites, from Spring Lake and Hope Mills out to Raeford and Dunn. That covers trades running 1 to 10 vehicles, delivery and service fleets that go through the gate at Fort Bragg, building contractors, and carriers working I-95 and the new Outer Loop.
The post shapes the local fleet more than anything else. The Army says approximately 53,700 troops and another 14,000 civilians work on Fort Bragg, and a long list of companies supply it: food and parts distributors, appliance and furniture delivery, household movers, HVAC and electrical contractors, and the defense firms the City of Fayetteville lists among its employers. All of them run vehicles that have to get on and off a guarded installation on a schedule.
Off post, the trades follow the rooftops. Census estimates for July 2025 put Fayetteville at 209,120 residents and Cumberland County at 338,473. The plumbers, electricians, roofers, pest-control and lawn companies serving those homes mostly run 1 to 10 vehicles, often from the owner's house in Hope Mills, Eastover or along Raeford Road.
Freight has grown along the highways. A 1.3 million square foot cross-dock opened in the Military Business Park on Bragg Boulevard in June 2024, receiving inventory and sending it on to other warehouses, which means tractor-trailers and not delivery vans. I-95 is being rebuilt from four lanes to eight both north and south of the city, and the Outer Loop now ties the post straight to it.
The public and health fleets are large as well. Cape Fear Valley Health runs eight hospitals and more than 150 locations, and the city's utility supplies electricity, water and sewer from its base on Old Wilmington Road. The contractors who serve them, from line clearance to medical gas to paving, make up a good share of the work trucks on the road here.
We install whichever platform you have picked and set it up for how Fayetteville fleets really spend the day: waiting at one delivery gate, crossing a city whose road map changed in 2025, and parking in yards that sit close to the Cape Fear.
Hardwired trackers on delivery trucks, service vans and pickups, with separate geofences for the post's truck plaza and for each building you serve, and battery-powered trackers on the trailers and equipment that tend to be the last things moved out of a low yard.
Road-facing and driver-facing cameras for route trucks and tractors on I-95 and the Outer Loop, plus rear cameras on box trucks and movers' vans that back up to quarters, loading docks and narrow residential driveways.
Lytx, Netradyne, Powerfleet, CalAmp, Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect and more, including ELD setup for tractors keeping hours-of-service logs, time-of-day alerts tied to gate hours, and mileage and drive-time comparisons built from current trips.
Gate time, separately from drive time. Fort Bragg sends commercial deliveries through one access point. The Army's instructions say all deliveries must come through the Knox Street Truck Plaza, which is open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The guard inspects the vehicle and its contents, the driver needs a bill of lading or invoice showing the delivery address, and everyone in the cab needs a REAL ID or another accepted ID and is background checked.
Without a geofence, all of that shows up as one long stop somewhere near the post. We draw one geofence on the truck plaza and others on the buildings you deliver to, so the report splits each run into queue and inspection, driving on post, and time at the customer. That tells you what the gate really costs per trip. We also set a weekend alert: any delivery truck not yet inside the plaza geofence by 12:30 on a Saturday or Sunday is flagged to dispatch, while there is still time to act.
Either, and for most contractors the yard is quicker. An install on post means getting our technician and van through access control like any other visitor. Fort Bragg has visitors pre-register online, and every adult in the vehicle is background checked. Regular access works differently: it takes a sponsor on post to request an access card.
If your vehicles live on the installation, we handle our own pre-registration and work to your sponsor's schedule. If they come home each night to a yard in Fayetteville, Spring Lake or Hope Mills, we do the whole fleet there, with no gate hours to work around, and trucks rotate through between jobs. In both cases the wiring is fused, labelled and documented, which helps if anyone on post asks what has been added to a vehicle. For trucks that go on post, we confirm the installation's current position on recording devices with your sponsor before cameras are installed.
Probably not, if they were set before late 2025. NCDOT opened the last five miles of the Fayetteville Outer Loop, I-295, on November 25, 2025, five months early. The loop now runs 39 miles from Ramsey Street around the north and west sides of the city to I-95 just over the Robeson County line, with new exits at Camden Road and Strickland Bridge Road, and NCDOT describes it as a direct connection from Fort Bragg to I-95. The link to I-95 southbound had opened in July 2024.
A crew that used to cross town on Raeford Road or Bragg Boulevard to reach Hope Mills now has a freeway around it. That changes miles per job, drive time and fuel, which are the figures most owners quote jobs and judge drivers against. When we set up the platform, we build those comparisons from current trips and not from history recorded on the old road network, and we check that route and corridor geofences still sit where your trucks drive.
At the level you set, and the river gauge gives you landmarks to set it by. The National Weather Service gauge on the Cape Fear at Fayetteville puts minor flooding at 35 feet, moderate at 48 and major at 58. At 35 feet the boat ramp and lower lot off Person Street are under water. At 59 feet the river reaches the bottom of the railroad bridge just downstream of the Person Street bridge, and at 60 feet water goes around the NC 24 bridge. Matthew crested at 58.94 feet on October 10, 2016, and Florence at 61.58 feet on September 19, 2018.
If you park anything near the river, a tracker turns that forecast into a list. We draw a geofence on the low yard, and when the forecast crest passes the level you have chosen, one look at that geofence shows which vehicles and trailers are still inside it and which have been moved. Battery-powered trackers on trailers and equipment matter most here, because those are the units nobody thinks of until the water is in the yard.
Cumberland County, Hoke County and the southern edge of Harnett County:
On post with a sponsor, or off post at a yard in Hope Mills, Spring Lake, Raeford or Dunn: the vehicles stay where they are and we travel.
Yes. We work in the driveway or at the storage lot, and a fleet of 1 to 10 is normally one visit, arranged around the time your crews head out. Nothing about the job is scaled down: the same installers, documented connections and a live test on every vehicle.
CalAmp, Samsara, Motive, Verizon Connect, Geotab, Lytx, Netradyne, Powerfleet and more. We are independent of all of them. If a contract calls for a particular system, send us the requirement and we install to it, alongside whatever you already use.
Yes. The cross-dock on Bragg Boulevard moves inventory between warehouses, so much of the freight around it rides on tractor-trailers making regional runs. For carriers based here we install ELD-capable units and road-facing cameras at your own terminal between loads, and battery-powered trackers on the trailers you own, so a trailer dropped at a door is still on your map.
As of the Army's listing in July 2026, eight access points are open around the clock, including Yadkin Road, Long Street, Honeycutt Road and Canopy Lane. Butner Road, Manchester Road and Rock Merritt open at 5 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. on weekdays only, and the All American gate is closed while the Gruber Road bridge is replaced. Gate hours change, so we name the gate geofences plainly and they are easy to update.
Yes. We install across Cumberland County, in Raeford and the rest of Hoke County, and up I-95 to Dunn in Harnett County. Vehicles kept in several towns are booked as a single job and each one is done where it is parked.
