Hall County is adding people fast. The Census Bureau puts Gainesville at 49,221 residents in July 2025, up 17.4% since April 2020, and Hall County at 226,568, up 11.7%, with workers averaging a 27.3 minute commute. A county growing like that gives electricians, plumbers, HVAC companies, roofers and landscapers more addresses every week, and those businesses with 1 to 10 vehicles are the owners we install for at the driveway or the shop yard.

Gainesville is known as the Poultry Capital of the World, and the Greater Hall Chamber's January 2025 employer list backs it up: Gold Creek Foods at 4,000 employees, Fieldale Farms at 2,375, Pilgrim's at 1,760 and Mar-Jac Poultry at 1,300, all listed as poultry processing. Jesse Jewell, who built the business here from the 1930s, is the name on Jesse Jewell Parkway. Georgia's 2024 farm gate report values Hall County's poultry and eggs at $107.8 million, about two thirds of the county's farm total.

Machines are built here too. Kubota Manufacturing of America is listed at 3,540 employees making tractors and utility vehicles. Cottrell, which Gainesville's city manager said in 2022 makes about two thirds of U.S. car carriers, is listed at 1,100 and has finished a 600,000 square foot North Campus in the Gainesville 85 Business Park. The King's Hawaiian bakery, Mars Wrigley and Performance Food Service are on the same list, and all of them ship on wheels.

Freight has its own cluster. The Chamber's 2025 report counts 68 logistics firms in the county with over 5,100 employees, and the Georgia Ports Authority opened the Gainesville Inland Port on May 4, 2026, on GA 365 in the Gateway Industrial Centre, with rail to Savannah. Northeast Georgia Medical Center, the county's largest employer at 11,417, and a Lake Lanier with about 10,600 docks along 692 miles of shoreline add the service and marine crews.

Hardwired trackers on pickups, vans and service bodies, pass-through harnesses on tractors, battery trackers on container chassis and dock-crew trailers, and geofences for the inland port gate, plant docks and lakefront job addresses.

Dash & Backup Cameras

Road-facing and driver-facing cameras on tractors that run GA 365 and I-985, and rear and side cameras on box trucks and car carriers that back into plant yards and marina lots.

Telematics & Integrations

Gainesville-Specific Considerations

What changes for a fleet running in Gainesville and Hall County?

How does the new inland port change truck traffic on GA 365 and White Sulphur Road?

It makes the Gateway Industrial Centre a weekday container stop, on a road still being rebuilt. The Gainesville Inland Port opened on May 4, 2026, with Norfolk Southern rail to Savannah five days a week, and the terminal runs Monday through Friday. The Georgia Ports Authority expects about 26,000 truck round trips to move to rail in the first year, and has said rail access can cut truck delivery time for regional cargo from about seven hours to under 30 minutes, which leaves a short truck leg from the terminal to the shipper's dock. Hall County's second phase on White Sulphur Road, widening it from the terminal entrance to GA 365, is due to finish in summer 2027.

That short leg is where a container fleet gains or loses money, so we measure it. Geofences go on the terminal gate and on White Sulphur Road between the entrance and GA 365, and the platform times each visit from the first approach to the last pass through the gate. A road-facing dash cam records the queue and the gate if a detention or damage dispute starts. A chassis has no ignition to wire into, so a battery tracker goes on any chassis or trailer the customer owns, and it keeps reporting while unhooked.

What should a refrigerated trailer report in a county full of poultry plants?

Box temperature, door status and location on one timeline, so a warm load can be traced to the minute and the place. Gainesville has the freight to make that matter. The Chamber's January 2025 list shows four poultry processors with 1,300 to 4,000 employees each, and its 2025 report describes a 270,000 square foot cold-chain facility beside the inland port, with direct access to I-985 and GA 365.

Where the refrigeration unit allows it, we read its temperature and set point through the telematics platform. Where it does not, we add a probe and a door sensor. Geofences around plant docks and cold-store yards make a door open at the dock normal and a door open on GA 365 an alert. The tracker takes power from the point the trailer provides and carries a backup battery, so the trailer keeps reporting when it sits unplugged in a yard.

How should we measure the Sardis Connector before it opens?

Install now and keep ordinary trip history, so fall 2027 arrives with a full year of before data. Hall County and the Georgia Department of Transportation broke ground on the Sardis Connector in 2025: a four-lane divided highway of about 3.55 miles from Sardis Road and Chestatee Road to Thompson Bridge Road (SR 60) at Mount Vernon Road, linking SR 60 and SR 53. The county prices the project at $86.2 million, with $56 million of construction paid by GDOT, and expects completion in fall 2027.

For crews who work both the SR 53 side and the SR 60 side of North Hall, the connector will change the route. We set up trip, route and stop reports at the install, with zones around the jobs on both roads, so the first week after the opening can be set beside the year before it. The county also lists a Lights Ferry and McEver roads roundabout and the Spout Springs Road widening, so we build work-zone geofences that can be moved as each job opens.

What should a Lake Lanier dock and lake-lot crew track?

The truck, the crane and the trailer, because each one works somewhere different. The Lake Lanier Association counts about 10,600 docks along 692 miles of shoreline and reports 11.8 million visitors in 2019. Every one of those docks needs someone to build, wire, lift or repair it, and the jobs are scattered along the water instead of clustered in a town.

So the useful geofence is the job address, not the town. We create a zone per lake lot, wire the crane or boom to an input so engine time and crane time report separately, and fit a battery tracker on the float or boat trailer, which spends nights unhooked at a ramp or a lake house. A road-facing dash cam covers the drive to the lot, and a rear camera helps with backing a trailer down to the water.

Questions From Gainesville Fleet Managers

What do Gainesville fleet managers ask us?

Do you install for Hall County businesses with 1 to 10 vehicles?

Yes. A group of 1 to 10 vehicles is normally a single visit at the shop yard or the owner's driveway, scheduled around when the trucks need to roll, typically 3 to 5 days out. An installer completes 15 to 20 vehicles a day on a basic GPS job, so a group that size rarely needs more than one visit.

Which GPS and dash camera systems do you install in Gainesville?

Verizon Connect, Netradyne, Motive, CalAmp, Powerfleet, Samsara, Lytx, Geotab and more. We are independent, and we install the system you have chosen. We also offer equipment. If a customer you haul for requires its own device on the truck, we install that as well.

Do you cover Oakwood, Flowery Branch, Braselton and Lula?

Yes, and Clermont, Murrayville, Gillsville and Chestnut Mountain as well. Whether the search was dash cam installation near me or fleet GPS tracker installation near me, the answer in Hall County is that we come to the vehicles, and fleets parked in several towns are planned as one job.

Do you install on trucks that haul for Gainesville's poultry plants?

Yes. Tractors, refrigerated trailers, box trucks and the pickups that serve the plants all get a tracker wired for ignition and engine data, a road-facing dash cam where wanted, and refrigeration data or a door sensor on the trailer. The Chamber's January 2025 list shows four poultry processors in Hall County, with 1,300 to 4,000 employees each.

Do you install on car haulers and trailers built in Gainesville?

Yes. Cottrell opened its first Hall County plant in 1973, and Gainesville's city manager said in 2022 it makes about two thirds of U.S. car carriers. On a car hauler we fit the tractor with a tracker and a road-facing dash cam, and the trailer with a hardwired or battery tracker, because a hauler can sit unhooked for days.
