Greenville is the service center for a wide stretch of eastern North Carolina. The Census Bureau estimates the city at 96,443 people in July 2025, up from 87,521 in 2020, and Pitt County at 182,936. Trades with 1 to 10 vehicles, the electricians, plumbers, heating and air companies, roofers and landscapers, work the city and then drive out to Farmville, Grifton or Bethel for the next call.

The city makes things that have to be moved. Hyster-Yale has a division headquarters, a manufacturing plant and a product development center here. Grady-White has built boats northeast of town since 1959 and employs about 350 people. Thermo Fisher's pharmaceutical site covers 1.7 million square feet on 142 acres with roughly 2,000 employees. Each has haulers, vendors and maintenance contractors working around it.

The hospital, the university and the utility support their own fleets. ECU Health's EastCare transport service has run since 1985 with ground units and five helicopters stationed across the region. Greenville Utilities supplies electricity, water, sewer and natural gas to the city and three-quarters of Pitt County, with nearly 175,000 customer connections, and line, pipe and tree contractors work for it year-round.

And the county still farms. The 2022 Census of Agriculture counted 54,782 acres of soybeans, 20,465 of cotton and 10,096 of peanuts in Pitt County, along with tobacco, hogs and poultry. Grain trucks, service trucks and crop-input delivery fleets run hard for a few months and need to be dependable when they do.

What We Install in Greenville

Set up for plant yards, long hauls and county-wide routes

We install the platform you have chosen and arrange it for how Greenville fleets work: lift trucks and road trucks sharing one yard, loads that are wider than a lane, and service routes that reach three counties out.

GPS Fleet Tracking

Hardwired trackers on box trucks, service vans, pickups and tractors, battery-powered trackers on boat trailers and equipment trailers, and site geofences named to match the system your yard equipment already uses.

Dash & Backup Cameras

Road-facing and driver-facing cameras for route and long-haul trucks, plus side and rear cameras positioned to cover an overhanging or oversize load from the cab to the last axle.

Telematics & Integrations

Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Geotab, Powerfleet, CalAmp, Samsara, Motive and more, with time-of-day movement alerts, engine data from diesel and natural gas trucks, and ELD setup for tractors that keep hours-of-service logs.

Greenville-Specific Considerations

What makes fleet installs in Greenville different?

Our lift trucks already report on their own system. Where do the road trucks fit in?

Beside them, set up to match. Hyster, whose lift-truck business is based in Greenville, announced in April 2025 that its Hyster Tracker telematics would be standard on electric and engine-powered counterbalanced lift trucks and some stand-up models, with seven years of wireless service included. It reports utilization, impacts, location and fault codes. So a warehouse that has bought lift trucks recently may find half its equipment is already connected.

The road vehicles are a separate job, and that is where we come in. We install your chosen platform on the trucks, vans and trailers, and we name the sites, docks and yard geofences in it to match what the lift-truck system already uses. Reports from both then describe one operation. If you would prefer a single platform across everything, tell us before the install and we will plan it that way, including devices on yard equipment where the platform supports it.

We haul wide boats. What should the tracker and cameras be set up to show?

The whole load, and the clock. Grady-White's largest model, the Canyon 456, is 45 feet long with a 14-foot beam. NCDOT requires a permit for anything wider than 8 feet 6 inches, so a boat like that moves as an oversize load, on the days and daylight hours its permit allows and with the escort the permit calls for.

For a hauler that means two things at install. Cameras first: a road-facing unit on its own sees none of a load that hangs over both sides of the trailer, so we add side cameras looking back along it and a rear camera, and the footage shows both sides of the load and what is behind it. Then alerts: we set a time-of-day rule so dispatch hears about a truck still rolling as the permit window closes, and adjust it by season. We also show your dispatcher how to load each permitted route, so an off-route truck raises an alert. Escort vehicles you own carry trackers too.

Our saved routes still say US 264. Is that a problem?

It can be, because US 264 is now a different road. The first Interstate 587 signs went up on June 22, 2022. The new number took over the freeway that used to carry US 264, 37 miles from I-95 near Wilson to the bypass on Greenville's west side, and US 264 was moved back onto its older alignment through the towns. The Greenville Southwest Bypass, 12.6 miles down to Ayden, had opened in November 2019.

A route note that says 'take 264 to Wilson' now describes the slow road. Landmarks, geofence names and driver instructions written before mid-2022 deserve a check, and so do speed-alert settings, since a freeway and the older road through the towns have very different limits. We go through them with you at setup and rename what needs it, so a new dispatcher and an old route sheet mean the same thing.

Do Friday night football games matter to a fleet?

In Greenville they do. Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium holds about 50,000 people in a city of about 96,000, and East Carolina's 2026 home schedule includes two Friday games, on November 6 at 7:30 p.m. and on November 27, alongside Saturday games on September 12, September 26, October 10 and October 31. A Friday game puts a crowd half the size of the city onto the roads around campus during a normal working afternoon.

We keep install days for yards near the stadium off game days, and on a Friday game day we finish by noon. For your own routes, a time-of-day report on those dates shows which late calls were caught in the traffic, so next season's schedule puts them in the morning. Delivery fleets that supply the restaurants and stores around campus see the reverse effect, with more stops and tighter windows, and stop-level reporting shows where the day went.

Questions From Greenville Fleet Managers

What do Greenville fleet managers ask us?

Do you install for Greenville businesses with 1 to 10 vehicles?

Yes. Four vans are wired, labelled and tested exactly as eighty trucks would be, by the same people. A fleet of 1 to 10 is normally finished in a single visit to the shop, scheduled around your first jobs of the day.

Which GPS and camera platforms do you install in Greenville?

Powerfleet, CalAmp, Geotab, Samsara, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne and more. We are an independent installer. If a hauling contract calls for a specific system, we install it alongside your own on the same truck.

Allen Road is torn up. Does that affect an install at our yard?

Only the timing. NCDOT is widening about 2.3 miles of Allen Road, from Stantonsburg Road to Dickinson Avenue Extension, to four lanes with a median. Clearing began in January 2026, completion is expected in late 2029, and NCDOT says daily lane closures may occur periodically. For yards on that stretch we come early in the day, before that day's lane closures, and we note the corridor in your geofences so they are easy to adjust when the new lanes and median open.

Can you install on trucks that run on compressed natural gas?

Yes. Greenville Utilities has operated a public CNG station on Easy Street since 2015, open around the clock with heavy-duty nozzles, so natural gas trucks are part of the local fleet. The tracker connects to the same vehicle network as on a diesel. We check at install what fuel data the platform is receiving from a gas engine and set the vehicle up as natural gas, so the reports are not treating it as a diesel.

Do you cover Winterville, Ayden, Farmville and Washington?

Yes. We work throughout Pitt County, including Grifton, Bethel, Grimesland and Simpson, and travel to Washington in Beaufort County and Kinston in Lenoir County. A fleet with vehicles in several of those places is scheduled as one job.
