API Signal installs fleet GPS trackers, AI dash cams and telematics for businesses across Jacksonville and Duval County, at the terminal lot, the yard or the job site, from the Northside and Westside to Mandarin, Arlington and the Beaches. If you searched for dash cam installation near me, we fit drayage tractors and container chassis, trades vans and pickups with 1 to 10 vehicles, utility contractor trucks and delivery fleets of every size.
Jacksonville is a port and logistics city first. JAXPORT's official statistics show 1,388,841 TEUs of containers, 506,237 vehicle units and 10,230,114 total tons crossing its terminals in fiscal year 2025. Every one of those containers leaves on a truck, so the drayage tractors, container chassis and car haulers working Blount Island and Dames Point are the fleet we think about first here.

The city is big as well as busy. The Census Bureau puts the City of Jacksonville at 1,017,689 people on July 1, 2025, and Duval County at 1,062,963, with 22,096 employer firms in the county. That is a lot of electricians, plumbers, HVAC companies, pest control routes, roofers and service vans, most of them running 1 to 10 vehicles, all sharing I-95, I-10 and I-295 with the port trucks.
Defense and utility work add their own fleets. JAXUSA Partnership, the regional economic development group, says NAS Jacksonville, Naval Station Mayport and Marine Corps Blount Island Command anchor a defense economy supporting more than 122,000 regional jobs, and CSX runs its global headquarters from downtown. After Hurricane Helene in September 2024, JEA crews restored power to more than 260,000 customers, the kind of storm shift where a contractor's office needs to see every bucket truck and pickup on one map.
Every major platform, fitted at your terminal lot, yard or job site anywhere in Duval County.
Trackers on tractors, box trucks, vans and pickups, plus battery trackers on container chassis, trailers and equipment that sit unhooked.
Road-facing and driver-facing AI dash cams, plus backup camera installation for box trucks and vans that back into docks all day.
Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Lytx, Netradyne, Zonar and more, with ELDs, PTO inputs and driver ID where you need them.
Yes. Jacksonville's truck route rules in Chapter 804 of the city's traffic code apply to trucks over 26,001 pounds. Under Section 804.1606, the driver of a regulated truck on a restricted road must be ready to show Jacksonville Sheriff's Office officers a log book, weight slips, delivery slips or other written records of where the truck came from and where it is going. The city treats a violation as a Class C offense. Government, utility and solid waste trucks are not regulated trucks under the rule.
GPS trip history gives the office a record of every stop, time and route for each truck. We cannot tell you that a GPS report satisfies an officer; that is a question for your attorney. What we can do is make sure the tracker is wired so the history is complete, with no gaps when the key is off or the truck is parked at the terminal.
FDOT District 2 lists the $176.8 million rebuild of the I-95/I-295 North interchange with an estimated finish of early 2027, and says temporary lane closures and nighttime detours will continue for the life of the project. That interchange sits between downtown, the airport and the port terminals on the north bank. Live GPS lets a dispatcher see a truck stuck in a night detour and move the next pickup to another driver.
Because the chassis spends a lot of its life unhooked. A tractor tracker tells you where the tractor is; it says nothing about a chassis dropped at a customer's dock two days ago. A battery-powered asset tracker on the chassis frame reports on its own schedule, hooked or not.

It changes the calendar. The Jacksonville Daily Record reported in January 2026 that the Jaguars plan to play the 2027 season at Camping World Stadium in Orlando while EverBank Stadium is rebuilt, and the Florida-Georgia game is set for Atlanta in 2026 and Tampa in 2027. Downtown still closes roads for events such as the Gate River Run each March, which shut streets in downtown and San Marco on March 7, 2026. Geofences around the stadium district show you which trucks were caught in it.
