What these cables are for

The hardwired Azuga trackers have a limited wire length, and the best mounting spot is not always next to the best wire. These cables stretch the run, or in the PTO case, add a sensor. They go with the 2-wire and 3-wire trackers, and one goes with the JBus PTO device.

Heads up

Which one do I need?

  • 2-wire tracker, wires too short: the 1000 mm 2 wire extension. That is a metre of reach for red and black.
  • 3-wire tracker, wires too short: the 900 mm 3 wire extension with the diode. It carries the constant, ignition and ground, so you keep the white ignition wire.
  • PTO monitoring on the JBus PTO device: the sensor cable, plus the firmware, configuration and package conditions in Azuga's PTO guide.
  • Something with a "9Wire" label: stop and ask Azuga what the cable plugs into.

Things to keep in mind when extending a wire

Every extension adds a connection, and a connection is a place for the signal to go wrong. ServiceTitan's Fleet Pro pages, which use Azuga hardware, say loose or damaged connections are the most common cause of repeated disconnects. Azuga's hardwire guides tell you to confirm the constant with a meter and to secure the cables only after the light check passes. Both habits matter more once there is an extension in the run.

The wire limits stay the same. Azuga says not to install either hardwired tracker on a battery source above 24 volts DC. The 2-wire guide states 12 or 24 volts. The 3-wire guide describes the red wire as 12 volt constant.

What the shop does not tell you

  • The reason for the diode on the 3 wire cable.
  • What the "9Wire" cables connect to and what the flat and round styles are for.
  • A maximum extension length or a voltage-drop guide.
  • Whether an extension changes how the ignition signal behaves.

We would rather say these are not published than make up an answer. If you are planning a big hardwired roll-out, send Azuga these questions in writing and keep the replies with the job file.

Do I need an extension cable for the 3-wire Azuga tracker?

Only if the wires are too short to reach a good mounting spot and the source wires. Azuga sells a 900 mm 3 wire extension with a diode, part C602-0032, for constant, ignition and ground.

What is the "9Wire" cable?

The shop lists a "9Wire 610 mm extension cable" in a flat version and a round version. The Azuga pages we read do not say what it connects. Ask Azuga before you order it.

What is the sensor cable for PTO monitoring?

It is a $9.99 cable, part C602-0071-LI, listed for PTO monitoring. Azuga's PTO install guide covers the JBus PTO device and its conditions.

Why is there a diode on the 3 wire cable?

The shop does not explain it. Azuga has not published the reason, so do not guess. Ask Azuga if the function matters for your install.
