Azuga compared, where it fits

What Azuga is built around, what to compare on any platform, and when Azuga is the right choice for your fleet.

API Signal installs Azuga, Geotab and many other platforms, and we may receive a referral fee from Azuga when a fleet signs up with Azuga through us. This page shows where Azuga fits and what to compare when you shop for any fleet platform.

What Azuga is built around

  • An easy start. The standard tracker is an OBD-II plug-in that Azuga says goes in in about 20 seconds, and Azuga publishes install guides for its hardwired and heavy-duty units.
  • Driver safety. Driver scores, rewards, coaching and alerts are part of the platform, and the SafetyCam Pro and Plus dash cams, launched April 28, 2025, add road and driver video.
  • Published plans. BasicFleet is $25, SafeFleet is $30 and CompleteFleet is $35 per vehicle per month on azuga.com/pricing, read October 21, 2026.
  • A full range of hardware. Plug-in OBD-II, JBus for heavy trucks, 2-wire and 3-wire hardwired units, asset trackers and Bluetooth beacons.
  • Integrations. Azuga says it has over 100 telematics integrations and a developer API.
  • Backing. Azuga has been a Bridgestone company since September 2021, and says it powers over 14,000 commercial fleets. That count is Azuga's own.

How we use review scores

On G2, Azuga holds a 4.7 overall rating. That is on about 200 reviews, so we treat it as a sign of how Azuga users feel and not as a ranking against platforms with more reviews.

Choose Azuga when

  • You run about 5 to 99 light or medium vehicles and want a quick plug-in start.
  • Driver scores, rewards and a dash cam option are the point.
  • You want published per-vehicle plans you can budget from.
  • You also track trailers, equipment or small tools and want it all in one platform.

A quick way to size it up

Using only Azuga's published list prices, ten vehicles on BasicFleet is $250 a month, and ten on CompleteFleet is $350 a month. Add the SafetyCam at about $42 to $50 per vehicle and the same ten vehicles run roughly $670 to $850 a month. That is simple addition of published prices, not an Azuga quote, so ask Azuga for the real number for your fleet.

Count your vehicles, list what each one has to do all day, and pick the plan that covers it. A service van that needs location and driver scores may sit on a different plan than a truck that needs video, so ask Azuga how plans are assigned.

The install decides how well it works

Whatever platform you choose, the install is where a tracker either becomes part of the vehicle or becomes something that gets pulled out later. On hardwired work we prove constant, ignition and ground with a meter before anything is tied down, and Azuga itself says a loose ground causes power problems on its cameras. Our install guide shows how each Azuga device goes in and how to prove it works.

Other platforms we install

We install Geotab and many other platforms, so the install side is the same whichever one you pick. Our Geotab guide covers Geotab in the same detail this guide covers Azuga.

Where to start

Count your vehicles, list what each one needs to do, and pick the plan that covers it. Then ask Azuga for the current plan terms.
