PTO monitoring tells a fleet when equipment is running off the truck engine. Here is what the Azuga cable does, what has to be in place first, and how we test the signal.

This is the sensor cable for PTO monitoring in the Azuga shop. The shop says it monitors Power Take-Off systems on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment using a PIN7 connection. The signal is 12 V when PTO is engaged and 0 V when it is off. No length is given. It was $9.99 and in stock on 2026-10-21.
A power take-off lets the truck engine drive equipment other than the wheels, such as a pump, a hoist or a mixer. A truck can be running with the PTO off, or parked with the PTO on. Tracking only ignition cannot tell those apart. A PTO signal can, and that is useful for billing work time, for checking equipment hours and for spotting a pump left running.
Azuga's PTO guide lists conditions that matter more than the cable. The cable alone does nothing without them.
| Requirement | What Azuga says |
|---|---|
| Device | The guide lists a JBus PTO device, which supports 6 pin, 9 pin Type 1 and 9 pin Type 2 ports. |
| Firmware | 34D0015330 or later. |
| Configuration | The configuration name ends in _4. |
| Package | The PTO package must be enabled on the account. |
The guide also lists a 3 wire hardwired device and an OBD-II device by part number, so PTO is not limited to one family. We confirm with Azuga which device and which settings a given truck needs before we order the cable.
The shop describes a PIN7 connection but does not say which connector it belongs to. We read it as pin 7 of a connector, and we treat that as not verified.
We do not know. Azuga's guide names specific devices and a firmware and configuration, so we check the device and settings first.
The shop says the signal is 12 V when the PTO is engaged and 0 V when it is off. Your meter should show the same, and if it does not, the circuit is the wrong one.
No. It is an extra sensor cable, sold separately.
