Most heavy trucks use a 9 pin port, but the cable has to match the connector on the truck. Here is how we match C601-0015 and where the Azuga documents stop.

| Where it fits | Heavy-duty trucks with a 9 pin Type 1 diagnostic port. Azuga says its JBus tracker supports 9 pin Type 1 and Type 2 ports, but the shop does not describe the difference between them. |

This is the 9 pin Type 1 JBUS extender cable in the Azuga shop. The listing gives the length as 800 mm, about 2.5 feet, and says it extends the connection point for telematics or diagnostic devices on heavy-duty trucks. It was in stock at $15 on 2026-10-21.
Azuga's own blog says heavy trucks typically use a 9 pin SAE J1939 connector. That is a general statement, and it is a good reason that this cable gets ordered a lot. It is also a trap. The shop sells three 9 pin extender cables, and an install can stall for days if the wrong one arrives.
| Cable | Part number | Shop price | What the shop says |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9 pin Type 1 | C601-0015 | $15.00 | About 2.5 ft, Type 1. |
| 9 pin Type 1 TL | C602-0021 | $15.00 | Type 1 with a twist-lock connection. |
| 9 pin Type 2 TL | C601-0021 | $15.00 | Type 2 with a twist-lock connection. |
There is no 9 pin Y-cable in the listing we reviewed. If a 9 pin port is already in use, ask Azuga what they recommend before you promise the customer a date.
Azuga does not publish a rule for telling the two types apart, so we do not invent one. What we do know from Azuga's PTO guide is that its JBus PTO device supports 6 pin, 9 pin Type 1 and 9 pin Type 2 ports. The device is not the limit. The cable is.
We do not have an Azuga statement on that. Trucks of different ages use different connector generations, so we identify the connector on each truck instead of assuming.
The shop labels it twist-lock. Azuga does not describe the locking style, so we treat it as a plug with a retaining ring until Azuga says otherwise.
A spare costs $15, which is cheap against a return trip. Just do not use a spare to avoid checking the port.
