A twist-lock plug is about keeping the connection on a truck that shakes all day. Here is what Azuga says about C602-0021 and how we test the fit before we leave.

This is the 9 pin Type 1 JBUS extender cable with a twist-lock connection. The shop lists it at 800 mm and says it is for heavy-duty trucks and extends the connection point for telematics or diagnostic devices. The price was $15 and the stock showed available on 2026-10-21. The shop text gives the length as about 3 feet in this listing and about 2.5 feet on its sister cables, so we work in millimetres.
A truck does not sit still. It hits every bump with a full load, and the diagnostic port sits close to the parts that move the most. A plug that depends on friction can walk loose over a few weeks. When that happens the tracker does not break. It just goes quiet, and nobody notices until a customer asks where the truck was last Tuesday.
ServiceTitan's Fleet Pro pages, which use Azuga hardware, say loose or damaged connections are a common cause of frequent disconnects. A retaining ring is one cheap answer to that.
This is general practice and not an Azuga procedure. Azuga does not describe how the twist-lock works or how much force it takes.
| Question | Plain Type 1 (C601-0015) | Twist-lock Type 1 (C602-0021) |
|---|---|---|
| Shop price | $15.00 | $15.00 |
| Shop length | 800 mm, about 2.5 ft | 800 mm, about 3 ft |
| Retaining ring | Not stated | Labelled twist-lock |
| Our pick for rough duty | Only if the truck port has no ring | First choice if the port takes it |
The price is the same, so we do not choose on cost. We choose on what the truck port accepts.
The shop labels two 9 pin cables TL and describes them as twist-lock. Azuga does not describe the style in any page we read.
Not if the connector generation is different. This cable is labelled Type 1. Use the Type 2 twist-lock cable for a Type 2 port, and ask Azuga if you are not sure which you have.
No. A lock holds the plug. It does not hold the cable or the tracker. We still support both.
