The card is where an Azuga dash cam records first. Sizes, shop prices, the maximum each camera supports, and the faults to watch for.

Azuga's dash cams record to an SD card, and event video is uploaded to the cloud afterward. If the card is missing, full, worn out or not mounted, the camera cannot record, and no amount of good cellular signal fixes that. On the Plus and Pro, the red light that flashes every 15 seconds is Azuga's signal that no card was detected.
| Card | Price | Price per gigabyte |
|---|---|---|
| 128 GB | $50 | about $0.39 |
| 256 GB | $80 | about $0.31 |
| 512 GB | $150 | about $0.29 |
Prices are as price listed on shop.azuga.com on 2026-10-21. The price per gigabyte is our own division of the listed prices, rounded. The shop also lists a 128 GB card at $49.99 for the earlier AI SafetyCam.
| Camera | Card listed by Azuga | Largest Azuga supports |
|---|---|---|
| SafetyCam Plus | 128 GB | 512 GB |
| SafetyCam Pro | 256 GB | 2 TB |
| AI SafetyCam (earlier) | 128 GB, included | 512 GB, industrial card |
The Pro supports a card far larger than the shop sells. Azuga has not published how many hours of video a given size holds, or what resolution the figure assumes. We will not guess.
This is the camera where Azuga documents the card steps most fully.
| What you see | What Azuga says |
|---|---|
| Red flashing every 15 seconds, Plus or Pro | No SD card detected. Reseat or replace the card. |
| SD not mounted or not recording, AI SafetyCam status report | Reboot the camera. |
| Not recording video, AI SafetyCam status report | Format or replace the card. |
| No videos in the portal, AI SafetyCam | Check the association, the install, that there was a trip in the past few days, and the status report. |
Plan for the card to be a wear item. Azuga does not publish a rated lifetime for the cards it sells, in the pages we read. Keep a few on the shelf, label each camera and record which card went into which vehicle. A swap with no record is how a vehicle with no video ends up in a ticket that nobody can explain.
Each part below has its own page with the shop price, what it does, what to check and how we would use it. Part photos are from the Azuga shop.

No. On the Plus and Pro, Azuga's light guide says a red light flashing every 15 seconds means no SD card was detected. The card holds the recording before event video goes to the cloud.
Azuga says the earlier AI SafetyCam supports a card up to 512 GB, and describes it as an industrial card. We did not find an approved-card list for the Plus or Pro. Ask Azuga before you buy a card elsewhere.
Match it to the camera first. The Plus lists 128 GB and the Pro 256 GB. Larger cards cost more per card and less per gigabyte. Azuga does not publish how many hours of video each size holds.
