The Plus keeps the detections and drops the expandability. Here is the comparison, the parts, and who should pick it.

SafetyCam Plus is the second model in Azuga's Next-Gen dual-facing AI dash cam line. It launched on April 28, 2025 beside the Pro. It has the same two jobs: one lens on the road, one on the driver, with AI that flags what it sees and sends event video to the cloud.
The way to read this page is as a comparison. The Plus gives up some memory, storage and expandability. It keeps the detections. If you are choosing between the two, the table below is the whole decision.
| Item | SafetyCam Plus | SafetyCam Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Processor and system | Qualcomm SDM450, Android 9 | Qualcomm QCS610, Android 10 |
| Memory | 2 GB RAM | 4 GB RAM |
| SD card | 128 GB listed, up to 512 GB | 256 GB listed, up to 2 TB |
| Video | Up to 1080p | Up to 1080p |
| Auxiliary cameras | One interior | Up to four exterior, IP69 |
| Backup power | 5 F supercapacitor, about 12 seconds | 10 F supercapacitor, about 18 seconds |
| Cooling | Not listed | Cooling fan |
| Serial starts with | J | L |
Both are rated -40 F to 140 F, and both run the same road-facing and driver-facing detections. Azuga publishes no lens or cellular specs for either.
In the Azuga shop the Plus and Pro each have their own hardwire cable, OBD power cable, windshield mount and lens cover. The Pro also has a separate driver lens cover and the aux camera connectors. Ordering a Pro cable for a Plus is an easy mistake and a wasted trip. The power cable page lists them.
Azuga's guide for the Plus ends with tightening a hex screw and fitting the SD and SIM cover. Do both. Azuga does not say why they come last. A missing or unseated card does show up as a red flashing light that says no SD card detected, so make sure the card is seated before you close the cover.
Azuga lists the SafetyCam AI add-on at $41.99 per vehicle per month on its pricing cards, and the same page headline says it starts at $49.99. Azuga's own pages disagree, so treat it as roughly $42 to $50 on top of a $25, $30 or $35 plan, and confirm the number the day you sign. Checked 2026-10-21.
Small and mid-size fleets that want driver safety video on cars, vans and light trucks without a camera system to manage.
Trucks that need side and rear views, or a fleet that wants to keep storage headroom beyond 512 GB. Those point to the Pro.
Azuga says the serial on the mounting area or the box starts with J for SafetyCam Plus and L for SafetyCam Pro. Check it before you order cables, because the Plus and Pro each have their own part numbers.
Azuga lists support for one interior auxiliary camera on the Plus. The Pro supports four exterior ones. Details on what Azuga sells for it are on the aux camera page.
Azuga's install guide has two Plus-only steps at the end: tighten the hex screw, and fit the SD and SIM cover. Azuga lists them as the final steps and does not explain why.
Azuga has not published a separate price for each model. Its pages list one SafetyCam AI add-on. Ask Azuga whether your quote differs by model.
