Azuga Plus Lens Cover

A $10 removable cover for the SafetyCam Plus lens. The shop says very little about it, so this page is mostly about the questions to ask before you order.

What it is

The shop describes this as a removable cover that protects the SafetyCam Plus lens from dust, scratches and other environmental factors. It was in stock at $10 on 2026-10-21. That is every detail the listing gives, so most of this page is about what the listing leaves out.

What Azuga does not say

QuestionWhat we found
Which lens does it cover? The Plus has a road lens and a driver lens. The shop does not say if this covers one or both.
Is it clear or opaque? Not stated.
How does it attach?Not stated.
Can the camera record with it on?Not stated.
Is it for transit, storage or daily use?Not stated.

Until Azuga answers those questions, we would not put this on a customer vehicle blind. Order one, test it on a bench camera and see what it does.

The lens film is not the cover

Azuga's install steps tell you to remove the lens film from the camera. That film is a factory protector and it comes off at install. The lens cover is a separate part that you buy. Do not mix up the two, and do not assume the cover replaces the film.

A covered lens cannot record

This is our reasoning, not an Azuga statement. If a cover is opaque and sits over a lens, that lens sees nothing. A camera that is meant to record road events cannot do it behind an opaque cover. So whatever this part is for, it has to come off when the camera is working. A cover that gets left on is a camera that quietly does nothing. We would tell drivers and fleet managers that plainly.

Where we could see it helping

  • A camera taken off a vehicle and stored or shipped, so the lens does not scratch.
  • A vehicle that sits in a dusty yard between jobs.
  • A fitting job where the camera is mounted early and the cab is still being worked on.

Those uses are our guesses. Azuga does not list them for this part.

How to decide before a fleet order

Buy one cover, fit it to a camera on the bench and look at the live view with it on and off. Write down what you see, whether it stays on by itself and how long it takes to fit. If the answers are good, order for the fleet. If not, you have spent $10 and learned what to tell customers.

Where to go next

Questions we get

Does the Plus cover both lenses?

The shop does not say. Ask Azuga, or test one before you order for a fleet.

Will the camera still record with the cover on?

Azuga does not say. If the cover is opaque, it cannot. Treat it as something to remove before driving unless Azuga confirms otherwise.

Can the Pro use this cover?

The shop lists a separate cover for the Pro driver lens. We would not assume the Plus part fits.
