The shop describes this as a removable cover for the SafetyCam Pro lens that faces the driver. It protects against dust, scratches and the environment, and the shop says it helps keep driver monitoring accurate. It was in stock at $10 on 2026-10-21. Among the Plus and Pro parts, this is the only cover named for the driver lens.
The driver-facing camera is the one behind the in-cab detections Azuga lists: fatigue, phone use and no seatbelt. A smeared or scratched lens gives that camera a poor picture. Whether a poor picture means a missed event, Azuga does not say, but a clean lens is the obvious starting point. In a cab with dust, hand lotion or cigarette smoke, the lens gets dirty faster than the road lens does. That is a general observation, not a published Azuga figure.
Drivers tend to ask the same thing: can I cover it. This part is the thing a driver might point to. It is not a privacy shutter, and the shop does not sell it as one. A driver who covers the lens is switching off the detections the fleet is paying for. We suggest the fleet writes down a clear policy and tells drivers what the camera does, when it records and what the cover is for. How you handle that is a decision for the fleet owner and their own rules, not for us or for Azuga.
Ask Azuga, or test one on a bench camera first.
The shop does not describe it that way. It says it protects the lens and helps keep driver monitoring accurate. Treat it as a protector, not a privacy shutter.
We did not see one in the shop listing we reviewed. Ask Azuga if you need one.
Azuga lists LED lights for night driver-facing recording and says nothing about this cover and those lights. Test before you fit one to a fleet.
