The cable that gives a SafetyCam Plus a permanent feed from the fuse box. Here are the wires, the fuse rules and one color mismatch you should know about before you cut anything.

This is the hardwire power cable that Azuga sells for the SafetyCam Plus. The shop describes it as a cable run from the fuse box. It has three wires: constant power, switched power and ground. The shop does not list a cable length or a connector type, so we cannot give you either. Ask Azuga if the run is long.
| Wire | Shop product text | Azuga install guide | Goes to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red | Constant 12 V | B+, constant 12 V | A fuse that always has power |
| White or yellow | White, ignition 12 V | Yellow, ACC, switched 12 V | A fuse that is live only with the key on |
| Black | Ground | GND | Bare metal chassis bolt, not paint |
The two Azuga sources agree on red and black but name the switched wire differently. We do not know which is current. Do not wire by color alone. Hold the cable you actually have, read the label on it, and prove the circuit with a meter.
Azuga says the original fuse goes in the bottom slot of the add-a-fuse, slot 2, and the camera fuse goes in the top slot, slot 1. Reverse them and power may be blocked. The outer blade of the fuse must also face the powered side of the slot, and the only way to know is to test. Crimp each terminal and pull-test it before you move on.
Azuga lists the Plus as 12 V or 24 V with a minimum of 2 A available. The camera draws about 32 mA on standby and about 225 mA when active at 12 V. That is a small load, so the fuse tap is not carrying much. The common failure on a hardwire job is a bad ground or a wrong circuit, not an overloaded one.
Pick the hardwire cable when the vehicle has no free OBD port, when the port sits somewhere a cable could be pulled out, or when you want one clean permanent feed. If the vehicle already carries an OBD tracker and you want the fastest job, the OBD power cable is the other option. Both cost the same in the shop, so choose by the vehicle, not the price.
We cannot confirm that. The Azuga shop sells separate hardwire cables for the Plus and the Pro, and Azuga does not say they are interchangeable. Check the serial and order the cable listed for your model.
A fuse that is live only when the ignition is on. Azuga does not name a specific circuit, so find one with a meter on that vehicle.
The red wire is the constant feed. Azuga lists a standby draw of about 32 mA, so the camera expects power to stay present. Check how your fleet wants parked-vehicle recording to behave.
