Fleet GPS tracking by vehicle

GPS Tracking Devices for Vehicles: Installed on Every Vehicle in Your Fleet

A fleet is never one kind of vehicle. It is pickups and vans, a few box trucks, maybe semis and trailers, and often equipment that never touches a road. Each one takes a different port, a different harness and a different mounting spot. We install GPS tracking devices on all of them across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi, so the whole fleet reports to one map.

Fleet installs from $65 per vehicle. Testing a few vehicles first? We do pilot installs too.

What vehicles can we put a GPS tracking device on?

Pick the vehicle below to see how the tracker goes in, which port or wiring it uses, and what the office sees once it is reporting. These are illustrations, not photos of customer vehicles.

Cars, pickups & vans

Sedans, SUVs, work pickups and cargo vans. Usually an OBD2 Y-split behind the dash, or hardwired where the fleet wants the device out of reach.

Medium duty trucks, where some use OBD2 and some use the heavy duty 9-pin. We check every truck so the right harness is on hand.

Semis & heavy duty trucks

9-pin and 6-pin Y-split harnesses, often the same device as the ELD, mounted behind the dash with a clear view of the sky.

Trailers

Dry vans, reefers, flatbeds and equipment trailers, tracked on their own power or a battery tracker, hooked up or not.

Patrol cars, fire apparatus, public works trucks and city cars, installed around the radios, lights and upfit already in them.

Heavy equipment

Skid steers, dozers, excavators, loaders, cranes, farm equipment and forklifts, with engine hours and theft alerts.

Generators & specialty equipment

Generators, light towers, compressors, welders, pumps, containers and roll-off dumpsters, on battery or hardwired trackers.

How is a GPS tracking device installed on a vehicle?

Every install comes down to the same three questions: where the device gets its power and data, where it mounts, and how it is checked before we leave.

Port locations and wire colors for specific vehicles are in our Vehicle Wiring Database.

Can one tracking system cover a mixed fleet?

Yes, and that is the point of installing it right. Most tracking providers sell one platform with different devices for different vehicles: a plug-in device for vans, a heavy duty device for semis, a rugged hardwired unit for equipment and a battery tracker for trailers and generators. We plan the right device and harness for each line on your vehicle list before the job, then install the whole fleet in as few visits as we can, at your yard or job site.

Many fleets add cameras at the same visit. See our fleet camera installation page for dash cams, backup cameras and 360 systems, and PTO and equipment monitoring for trucks with hydraulics, booms and plows.

What does a fleet see once the trackers are in?

Where every vehicle and machine is, live on one map, and where it has been. Speeding, harsh braking and idling on the road vehicles. Engine hours, fault codes and run time on trucks and equipment. Theft and after-hours alerts on anything that should be parked. Real-time tracking runs over the cellular network, so it carries a monthly plan from the tracking provider, and we install for all the major ones.

Which GPS tracking brands do we install?

Whatever your fleet runs, we install it on every vehicle type on this page. Need heavy duty trackers for trucks or heavy equipment? Every brand below makes them, so pick yours and we install it.

Common questions

Questions We Get Asked

What is the best GPS tracking device for a vehicle?

The one that matches the vehicle and your platform. A plug-in device suits most cars and vans, a heavy duty device suits semis, and a battery tracker suits trailers and equipment with no power.

Do you install GPS trackers on mixed fleets?

Yes. We plan the device and harness for each vehicle on your list and install the whole fleet, often in one visit.

How much does it cost to install a GPS tracker on a fleet vehicle?

Fleet installs start at $65 per vehicle. Heavy equipment, hardwired installs and add-ons such as cameras or PTO take longer, and we quote them up front.

Can you install a tracker I already bought?

Yes. We install devices from all the major tracking providers, whether you bought them already or need them supplied with the install.

Do you install in my state?

We install across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

Ready to track the whole fleet?
