Heavy Equipment GPS Tracking Installation

Heavy equipment moves between job sites on trailers, sits unattended overnight and is serviced by hours, not miles. We install GPS tracking devices on skid steers, dozers, excavators, loaders, cranes, farm equipment and forklifts across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi, on site wherever the machines are.

Fleet installs from $65 per vehicle. Testing a few vehicles first? We do pilot installs too.

What heavy equipment can get a GPS tracker?

Anything with an engine or a battery, and plenty without. The machines we install on most:

Attachments, generators, light towers and compressors are tracked with battery-powered asset trackers. See asset tracker installation.

What heavy equipment and work machinery do we track?

Here is the heavy equipment we put trackers on. These are illustrations, not photos of customer equipment. More machines are being added.

How is a GPS tracker installed on heavy equipment?

Every machine is laid out differently, and the hardest part of the job is finding a mounting spot that is protected from the knocks the machine takes all day and can still see the sky. On a crane, a skid steer and a dozer those spots are in three different places.

Pinouts and port locations are in our Vehicle Wiring Database.

What does heavy equipment tracking show the owner?

Why is heavy equipment installation dirty, hard work?

Because these machines live in mud, dust and hydraulic grease, and every panel you open has a layer of it. That is the part of heavy equipment work many installers do not want, and it is why a lot of it goes undone or gets done badly. We have installed telematics on skid steers, dozers and cranes on working job sites. You can read about that job on our fleet install stories page.

Common questions

Questions We Get Asked

Can you track engine hours on heavy equipment?

Yes. Hours come from the machine's diagnostic port where it has one, or from a hardwired ignition input. Either way the ignition source has to be the true key-on circuit.

Do you install on equipment at the job site?

Yes. We come to the job site or yard where the machines are, so nothing has to be hauled in.

Can you track farm equipment and forklifts?

Yes. Tractors, field equipment and forklifts are tracked the same way, hardwired or through the diagnostic port where there is one.

What about attachments and equipment with no engine?

Those get battery-powered asset trackers, which report on their own without the machine's power.

Do you install in my state?

We install across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.
