Signed up for Verizon Connect Reveal and now have trackers and dashcams to fit? We install them in your vehicles at your location, run each one through its setup test, and hand back a fleet that shows up on the Live Map.
Our company is independent. Verizon Connect plans and hardware are not sold here, and we have no tie to Verizon. Our part is the work inside the vehicle: the correct harness, a hidden and secure mount, clean wiring and a passed test.
Plug-in units, hardwired units, and everything that goes on the windshield.
The Vehicle Data Device connects at the OBD-II port under the dash. Where it suits the vehicle we add a Y-cable, so the device is tucked out of sight and the port stays usable.

Some jobs call for a tracker wired into the vehicle harness, such as power take-off monitoring or Driver ID. We find and test each circuit with a meter before making any connection.
Dashcams mount on the windshield where they do not block the driver or end up hidden behind a visor. Power comes from the diagnostic port or a three-wire hardwire, depending on the vehicle.

Trucks with 9-pin or 6-pin diagnostic ports take their own cables. We work from your vehicle list so every truck gets the connector it needs.

Inputs for power take-off, and Driver ID readers, are wired in, mounted where drivers can reach them, and tested by actually using them.

Verizon Connect's own setup app tests each device for a network connection and a GPS fix. A vehicle is not called done until that test passes.
The setup test asks for details about each vehicle. Having them written down ahead of time turns a slow job into a quick one.

Verizon Connect's own guidance puts a plug-in tracker at around 10 minutes and a hardwired tracker at around 30. That lines up with what we see: about 25 minutes for a tracker fitted properly with a harness, and about 30 minutes once a dashcam is added. A dashcam also needs around five minutes to boot before its view can be checked.
A dashcam that is powered correctly flashes its red, blue and green lights in sequence and gives a single beep. The setup app then shows a live preview from each lens, which is how the camera gets aimed instead of guessed. For trackers, the app waits for the device to reach the network and get a GPS fix, which should happen within about three minutes. Verizon Connect warns that a poorly fitted device leads to weak connections and inaccurate location and harsh-driving reports. That is the reason each device is fixed firmly in place and never left loose under the dash.
We fit Verizon Connect alongside many other brands, including Geotab, Samsara, Motive and Lytx. If you are moving from one of those to Reveal, the old equipment can come out while the new goes in.
A fair question, and Verizon Connect answers it directly.
Verizon Connect states it would take at least 31 days of sitting unused for a tracker alone to run down a healthy 12-volt battery.
Swapping a tracker into a different vehicle the wrong way can void its warranty. If a vehicle is being replaced, tell us and the device will be moved correctly.
Dashcam mounting pads bond best when the windshield is between 50 and 80 degrees. On very hot or cold days, the glass has to be brought into that range first.
