Your Samsara gateways and dash cams arrived in a box. We turn that box into a working fleet: every gateway mounted solid, every camera aimed properly, and every vehicle showing in your dashboard before we leave your yard.
We are an independent installation company. We do not sell Samsara hardware or licenses, and we are not part of Samsara. What we do is the hands-on work at the vehicle, backed by 35 years of twelve-volt installation experience.
The gateway, the cameras, and everything that plugs into them.
Light-duty vehicles use a Y-cable at the diagnostic port near the driver's kick panel. The gateway takes one side and the other side stays open, so a mechanic can still plug in a scan tool.

Heavy trucks use the round 9-pin diagnostic connector. We unmount the factory port, connect the splitter cable behind the dash, and return the port to the spot where the next technician expects to find it.
The dash cam sits below the rear-view mirror, inside the wiper sweep, on clear glass. Its adhesive bonds once and the camera cannot be moved afterward, so we check the picture before pressing it down.

Samsara's own guide warns that a loose gateway gives inconsistent harsh-event readings. We tie the gateway down tight, away from metal that blocks its signal, with cables clear of the pedals and steering.
Trackers for trailers and equipment are mounted where they are hard to knock off, powered correctly where they need power, and checked on the map before we go.

A green light on the gateway is the start, not the finish. We confirm each vehicle passes its setup checks and appears in your dashboard, and we send photos of every install.
A Samsara install goes fastest when the paperwork side is finished before the tools come out. These six things help the most.
The count, the vehicle types, and where they park.
In writing, by email, before any work is booked.
At your yard or shop, on a schedule that fits your routes.
Each one confirmed in your dashboard, with install photos.
After the gateway is connected and the vehicle is switched on, the light should turn green within one to three minutes. Green means it is working normally. Amber means cellular reception is weak where the vehicle is sitting. Blue means the vehicle needs to be restarted, and sometimes taken on a short drive, before the gateway finishes reading the vehicle. We do not pack up on amber or blue. We sort it out while we are still standing at the truck.
A gateway in a vehicle that is parked and ready is usually about 25 minutes of work. A gateway and a dash cam together is closer to 30 minutes per vehicle. Heavy trucks that need the dash opened up take longer, and you will know that from the written quote, not from a surprise on the invoice.
Samsara is one of many brands we install. The same crew also fits Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect and Lytx equipment, which helps when a fleet is switching from one system to another.
Three problems that come from skipping the manufacturer's own instructions.
A gateway that can shift under the dash may report harsh events that never happened, or miss real ones.
A camera mounted off to one side sees less of the road. Samsara notes that side or corner placement reduces detection accuracy.
Every cable has to stay clear of the pedals, the steering linkage and anything else that moves. We tie them back and check twice.
Have 1 to 10 vehicles? Look at FleetStart. Have 11 or more? Look at ProFleet.
Tell us how many vehicles you have and we will send a written price.
Send the vehicle count, the vehicle types, and where they are kept. A written quote comes back by email.
A few questions about your fleet, then a per-vehicle price in writing.
