Drivers leave doors unlocked, lose keys and lock themselves out. Remote door lock control lets a fleet manager lock or unlock a vehicle from the tracking platform, and records lock status. We install it with GPS trackers for service, delivery and rental fleets across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

Many GPS trackers have outputs that can switch a relay on command from the platform. Wired into the vehicle's power lock circuit, a relay can send a lock or unlock pulse just like the key fob or the door switch. On some vehicles, lock status can also be read back as an input. Vehicles differ widely: some use simple lock motor circuits, others use body control modules that expect a specific signal, so we confirm the method for each vehicle before quoting.
Wire colors for lock circuits are in our Vehicle Wiring Database.
Tool and parts theft from unlocked work vans is a common, costly problem. Remote locking closes that gap without waiting for the driver to walk back. Remote unlock saves service calls and spare key runs. Together they cut downtime and losses.
Lock control pairs well with cargo door sensors and after hours alerts. See van and box truck sensor tracking.
Trades and service fleets, delivery companies, rental and car sharing fleets, and any fleet with expensive cargo in its vans.
This is one of the work truck and equipment applications we wire into GPS trackers. See all of them on our PTO and equipment monitoring page, and find wire colors for your truck in our Vehicle Wiring Database.
We wire PTO monitoring into trackers from all of these brands. Need heavy duty trackers for trucks or heavy equipment? Every brand below makes them, so pick yours and we install it.
