Powerfleet makes telematics for vehicles, trailers, containers and industrial equipment like forklifts, and runs them on its Unity platform. In 2024 it combined with MiX Telematics and bought Fleet Complete, which makes it one of the larger telematics companies in the market. We install Powerfleet hardware for fleets across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.
Powerfleet's product line is broad, so we confirm the part numbers and what each device is meant to report before we arrive.
Industrial equipment is a different job from road vehicles. Forklifts often run on electric, propane or diesel power, sit in tight warehouses and take constant knocks. Devices are mounted where operators and loads will not hit them, wired to a true key-on circuit so run time is accurate, and protected from heat and battery acid on electric trucks. Where the system controls who can start the machine, we test that every operator credential works before we leave.
On road vehicles, the device goes in a secure spot with a view of the sky, on metered constant, ignition and ground or a diagnostic port harness. On trailers, the tracker is mounted where it is hidden, out of road spray and able to see the sky, and powered from the trailer where the fleet wants frequent reporting. See our trailer GPS tracker page for how trailer power works.
Fleets that want road vehicles, trailers and industrial equipment on one platform. A simple note: if your fleet came from MiX Telematics or Fleet Complete, ask your account team which platform and hardware your plan will use going forward.
Road vehicles are checked for location, ignition and engine data. Trailers and containers are checked for location and, where fitted, door and cargo status. Forklifts and yard equipment are checked for run time, impact reporting and operator access where the system controls it. Nothing is signed off until it reports correctly on the platform.
Powerfleet's mix of vehicle, trailer and industrial telematics fits companies that run more than road vehicles: distribution and warehousing, manufacturing, food and beverage, and logistics companies with trailer and container pools. A single company might have forklifts in the warehouse, trailers in the yard and trucks on the road, all reporting to one platform.
We come to the vehicles, at your yard, shop or job site, and schedule around your routes so trucks stay in service. Each vehicle is metered, installed, tested on the platform and logged before it goes back out. Built by Installers, for Installers.
