Platform Science builds in-cab technology for trucking fleets: telematics devices, driver tablets and an app platform that lets carriers run the tools they choose on one device. In 2025 it completed its purchase of Trimble's global transportation telematics business. We install Platform Science hardware for carriers across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.
Carriers choose different hardware and apps, so we confirm the exact kit and mount for each truck model before we schedule.
These installs are mostly on heavy trucks, so the work starts with the truck's heavy duty diagnostic port and its harness, often behind panels under the dash. Tablet mounts need a solid base that will not loosen over hundreds of thousands of miles of vibration, and the cable to the tablet has to be routed so it is not pinched by a door, a seat or the steering column.
Carriers often roll out across hundreds of trucks at terminals and yards. We plan the work around dispatch so trucks are installed between loads, and each one is checked before it leaves.
Carriers that ran Trimble transportation telematics may be moving to Platform Science hardware or software as the two businesses come together. Which equipment changes, and when, is up to the carrier and its account team. On our side, we remove old devices and their wiring cleanly, install the new hardware, and confirm every truck reports before it goes back into service.
Trucking carriers that want one in-cab device for telematics, logs and the apps they choose. A simple note: smaller fleets should ask about minimum truck counts and which apps are included before they buy.
Each truck is checked with the engine running: the telematics device reporting location and engine data, the tablet powered and connected, and the mount tight with the tablet in its working position. The tablet cable is checked for clearance at the door, the seat and the steering column. A truck does not go back to dispatch until it reports.
We come to the vehicles, at your yard, shop or job site, and schedule around your routes so trucks stay in service. Each vehicle is metered, installed, tested on the platform and logged before it goes back out. Built by Installers, for Installers.
