Sprayer Truck Monitoring

When a truck sprays herbicide on a right of way, fertilizer on a lawn or adulticide for mosquitoes, the record of where it sprayed matters. We wire sprayer pumps and booms into GPS trackers so every application is mapped, for spray contractors, lawn care companies and public agencies across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

How do spray trucks work?

Spray trucks carry a tank, a pump and either booms, hand guns on hose reels, or a mounted sprayer. Pumps are driven by a small engine, by hydraulics or by a PTO. Right-of-way trucks often have boom sections the operator switches on and off, and mosquito control trucks use ultra low volume sprayers that run from their own controls.

Because spraying often happens along long roadside routes, the truck may spray in short stretches with gaps in between, which makes a simple pump-on record misleading. Boom switch signals capture those gaps accurately.

What can be monitored?

Chassis wire colors are in our Vehicle Wiring Database.

Why does it matter?

Pesticide and herbicide applications come with record keeping requirements that vary by state and by product. A dated, located map of where spraying happened is a strong supporting record and helps answer complaints from landowners about drift or missed areas. For mosquito control, it shows which neighborhoods were treated on which night.

It also helps the business side. Owners can see how many acres or road miles each truck treats per day, how much time is lost refilling and traveling, and which routes take longer than they should. Pump hours guide seal and diaphragm service before a breakdown in the middle of the season.

What goes wrong?

Who uses sprayer monitoring?

Right-of-way and vegetation management contractors, utilities, railroads, lawn care companies, agricultural applicators and mosquito control districts. Tanker trucks are covered on our tanker and fuel truck tracking page.

Where can I see other PTO and equipment monitoring?

This is one of the work truck and equipment applications we wire into GPS trackers. See all of them on our PTO and equipment monitoring page, and find wire colors for your truck in our Vehicle Wiring Database.

Which GPS tracking brands do we install?

We wire PTO monitoring into trackers from all of these brands. Need heavy duty trackers for trucks or heavy equipment? Every brand below makes them, so pick yours and we install it.
