Fuel Truck & Tanker Tracking: Pump Time at Every Delivery

On a tanker the delivery happens through the pump, so the pump is the record. We wire the pump, blower or spray bar into the tracker on fuel, propane, dry bulk and sprayer trucks, so each delivery is logged with the time and the address.

Fleet installs from $65 per vehicle. Testing a few vehicles first? We do pilot installs too.

What do we monitor on tankers and fuel trucks?

Each picture shows the part that gets wired into the tracker, circled in red. These are illustrations, not photos of customer trucks. The sections below explain how each one is monitored.

How is a fuel delivery recorded?

The product pump on a fuel or propane truck runs from the PTO. The PTO signal records pump time at each stop. Distributors match it to delivery tickets and see how long each delivery took. Meters with a data connection can report gallons on platforms that support them.

What is monitored on a dry bulk tanker?

A pneumatic tanker unloads with a blower driven by the tractor's PTO. The blower signal records each unload with location and time.

Can an aircraft refueler be tracked?

Yes. A refueler's pump runs from the PTO, and its signal records fueling time at each stand. Airports and FBOs use it alongside location on the ramp.

How is a sprayer truck monitored?

The spray pump runs from the PTO and the booms are switched from the cab. The pump or boom signal shows where and how long spraying happened, for roadside, right of way and agricultural work.

What does the office see once it is wired in?

How do we wire and test it?

We meter every signal before we use it, so the tracker records the equipment actually working, not a switch that was only requested. Power connections are fused, wiring is secured away from heat and moving parts, and each input is tested with the equipment running before the truck goes back out. Wire colors for the truck side are in our Vehicle Wiring Database. See all the equipment we monitor for the other trucks and equipment we wire in.

Which GPS tracking brands do we install?

Every major tracking platform can record pump signals on tankers, and we wire them into all of them. Need heavy duty trackers for trucks or heavy equipment? Every brand below makes them, so pick yours and we install it.
