Lights tell other drivers to look. The siren tells them an emergency vehicle is coming. We wire siren status into GPS trackers so agencies have a record of when sirens were used during responses, across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

Electronic sirens are driven by a siren controller in the cab, which sends tones to one or more speakers. Some apparatus also have mechanical sirens or air horns. Many controllers have outputs that indicate when a siren tone is active. We meter the controller and connect the tracker to a clean, isolated signal, never to the speaker circuit itself.
Controllers often offer several tones, such as wail, yelp and a low frequency rumbler on some vehicles. The tracker does not need to know which tone is playing, only that a siren is active, which keeps the install simple and reliable.
Wire colors are in our Vehicle Wiring Database.
Many policies and state rules expect both lights and siren during certain emergency responses, and crash investigations often ask whether the siren was sounding. A dated record of siren use alongside lights, speed and location gives agencies the facts they need for reviews and claims.
Siren records also help training officers see how drivers handle intersections and heavy traffic during responses, when combined with speed data from the same moments.
After the install we test every switch position with the vehicle parked and confirm the tracker shows siren on and off at the right moments, so the record can be trusted when it matters.
Siren data is most useful with emergency light monitoring. See our police and emergency vehicle tracking page for the full police and emergency vehicle setup.
Police departments, sheriff's offices, fire departments, EMS agencies and any fleet that runs emergency vehicles with sirens.
This is one of the work truck and equipment applications we wire into GPS trackers. See all of them on our PTO and equipment monitoring page, and find wire colors for your truck in our Vehicle Wiring Database.
We wire PTO monitoring into trackers from all of these brands. Need heavy duty trackers for trucks or heavy equipment? Every brand below makes them, so pick yours and we install it.
