A dry bulk tanker unloads by air. The blower on the tractor pressurizes the trailer and pushes cement, sand, lime, plastic pellets or flour through a hose into the customer's silo. We wire the blower into the GPS tracker so every unload is recorded, for bulk carriers across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

Pneumatic dry bulk trailers have hopper bottoms and a sealed tank. At the customer, the driver connects a hose from the trailer to the silo and runs a blower, usually mounted on the tractor and driven by a PTO, that pressurizes the tank. Air carries the product through the line into the silo. Unloading can take an hour or more depending on the product, the line and the silo.
Tractor wire colors are in our Vehicle Wiring Database.
Bulk carriers often charge for time beyond a set unloading window. A record of when the blower started and stopped at each silo supports those charges and shows which customers routinely hold trucks. The same data helps dispatch plan the next load more accurately.
Blowers wear with run hours and are expensive to rebuild. Tracked PTO hours put blower service on a real schedule, and an alert for the PTO engaged above a set speed protects the drivetrain.
Hose and line routing near the blower is another trouble spot. The blower and its piping get hot, so tracker wiring is routed away from them and secured along the frame.
Cement and aggregate haulers, plastics and chemical carriers, food grade bulk carriers and fracking sand haulers. Liquid tankers are covered on our tanker and fuel truck tracking page.
This is one of the work truck and equipment applications we wire into GPS trackers. See all of them on our PTO and equipment monitoring page, and find wire colors for your truck in our Vehicle Wiring Database.
We wire PTO monitoring into trackers from all of these brands. Need heavy duty trackers for trucks or heavy equipment? Every brand below makes them, so pick yours and we install it.
