A sewer jetter earns its money when the pump is pushing water down a line, not when it is parked at the shop. We wire the jetter pump into the GPS tracker so every cleaning job shows up with a start time, an end time and a location, for municipal utilities and private drain companies across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

A sewer jetter, also called a jetter truck or hydro jetter, cleans pipes with water. A high pressure pump sends water through a hose to a nozzle that is fed down the line from a manhole or cleanout. Jets on the back of the nozzle pull it forward and scour grease, roots and debris off the pipe wall as the hose is reeled back.
The pump takes serious power, and trucks get it in different ways. Many use a PTO from the truck transmission to drive the pump. Others carry a separate auxiliary engine that runs the pump on its own. Hose reels are often hydraulic. Combination sewer cleaners add a vacuum system to the same truck to pull the loosened debris out of the manhole, which brings its own power source and its own signal to monitor.
Truck side wire colors are in our Vehicle Wiring Database.
Utilities report how many feet of line were cleaned and where. A tracked record of pump time at each location backs up those reports and the crew time sheets behind them, without anyone filling in a paper log at the manhole. For contract cleaning companies, it is the record that supports hourly billing.
It also puts maintenance on the right clock. High pressure pumps, seals and hoses wear by hours of use. A jetter can run for hours parked in one spot while the odometer does not move, so service based on miles falls behind. Tracked pump hours fix that.
Municipal sewer departments, water and wastewater utilities, contract pipe cleaning companies and drain service businesses all use it. Each wants the same thing: proof of where the work happened, honest idle reports, and pump hours that keep the most expensive part of the truck serviced on time.
This is one of the work truck and equipment applications we wire into GPS trackers. See all of them on our PTO and equipment monitoring page, and find wire colors for your truck in our Vehicle Wiring Database.
We wire PTO monitoring into trackers from all of these brands. Need heavy duty trackers for trucks or heavy equipment? Every brand below makes them, so pick yours and we install it.
Common questions
Yes, once the PTO signal or the auxiliary engine run signal is wired into the tracker. The platform then shows each stretch of pumping with a time and place.
We monitor the jetting side and the vacuum side separately where the truck provides both signals.
They are similar trucks, but a hydro excavator digs with water and vacuum. See our hydro excavator monitoring page.
