Oilfield Pump Truck Monitoring

Oilfield pump trucks, from kill trucks and pressure pumpers to hot oilers, are billed by the hour on location and maintained by pump hours. We wire their pumps into the GPS tracker so every job is on record, for oilfield service companies across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.

What kinds of pump trucks are there?

Kill and pressure trucks pump fluid into wells for well control, testing and workover jobs. Hot oil units heat oil or water and circulate it to clear paraffin from tubing and lines. Acid and cementing units pump treatment fluids and cement. Their pumps are driven by a PTO from the truck engine or by a separate deck engine, depending on the size and design.

What can be monitored?

Truck side wire colors are in our Vehicle Wiring Database.

Why does it matter?

Oilfield service tickets are checked closely by operators. A record of when the truck arrived, when the pump ran and when it left supports every ticket and shortens disputes. In remote areas, the map also shows the office where every unit is without radio calls.

High pressure pumps wear quickly. Fluid end valves, seats and packing are serviced by pump hours, and tracked hours help plan that work between jobs.

What must an oilfield install respect?

How does it fit with the rest of the fleet?

Pump trucks usually work alongside vacuum trucks, water haulers and workover rigs. Each can be tracked on the same platform, giving one view of every unit on every pad. See our oilfield and drilling truck tracking page.

Who uses it?

Oilfield service companies, workover contractors, hot oil operators and production companies with their own units.

What other PTO and equipment monitoring do we install?

This is one of the work truck and equipment applications we wire into GPS trackers. See all of them on our PTO and equipment monitoring page, and find wire colors for your truck in our Vehicle Wiring Database.

Which GPS tracking brands do we install?

We wire PTO monitoring into trackers from all of these brands. Need heavy duty trackers for trucks or heavy equipment? Every brand below makes them, so pick yours and we install it.
