Azuga's hardwired asset tracker for trailers and powered equipment. Wiring, battery, mounting and what to watch for.
The Rechargeable Asset Tracker GV620MG is the hardwired member of Azuga's asset line. It connects to the power on a trailer, tanker, reefer or flatbed, and keeps a 5800 mAh battery as backup. Azuga says that battery can hold it for up to 120 days of standby.
Azuga's help center has an install guide for it that is marked last verified September 2025.

Face the antenna side up with a clear view of the sky, on a stable surface, with the lights visible. Do not mount it under metal or in an enclosed space. Fasten the front screws first, then the four bottom-shelf screws in a crisscross pattern. Do not fully tighten any screw until all four are in. Then tighten evenly so the seal stays waterproof.
Where Azuga contradicts itself
The guide asks for the serial number in step 1 but searches by IMEI in step 3. The pin table says 8 to 32 V while the wiring step says +12 or +24 V. Neither changes the install, but note both on the job sheet.
Trailers, tankers, reefers and flatbeds where the asset has power and you want engine hours or temperature, with a battery that rides through a disconnect.
A tracker that must report fast with no power at all, or an install where you cannot reach a constant and a switched circuit that suit the asset.
Azuga's guides name four: red for constant power from 8 to 32 V, black for ground, white for ignition detect, and grey for a 1-Wire temperature sensor. The older GV600 article says Azuga supports only red and black. Connect red and black for tracking, and add white only if you want engine hours.
Azuga says up to 120 days of standby. In that mode it reports one location and stays online for 15 minutes a day. The battery is 5800 mAh, built from two 18650 Li-ion cells.
Azuga documents four patterns: slow flashing CEL means registered on the cellular network, GPS on means it has GPS information, fast flashing POWER means external power is in and the battery is charging, and POWER on means external power is in and the battery is full. See the technical page.
Yes. Azuga says the GV620MG detects Azuga Equipment Beacons. Azuga help says a tracker can pair with 100 or more beacons, while azuga.com says up to 50 nearby at once.
