This camera has a screen instead of status LEDs. Here is what the screen tells you and what to do when it does not look right.
Technical sheet for the standalone AI SafetyCam. Its status lives on the screen, not in a row of LEDs, so this page is about that screen, the setup menu, and the fixes Azuga documents.
No LEDs documented
Azuga's install guides say LEDs are not documented for this unit. The simulator below shows the two screen states Azuga describes. It does not invent others.

This camera has no documented LEDs, so the signal bars on the touchscreen are the status light.
The camera has a built-in speaker for audible alerts, per Azuga's specifications. Azuga has not published the phrases this older camera speaks, so we do not have a list to play. The spoken phrases we can play are from the newer cameras and are on the Plus and Pro technical pages. Do not assume they match.
| Alarm | Azuga's fix |
|---|---|
| SD not mounted, or not recording | Reboot the camera |
| Not recording video | Format or replace the SD card |
| Sensor cannot start | Contact support for a replacement |
| Repeated restarts | Ask support for a software upgrade |
| Driver lens not recording | Contact support |
| Not Tested | Means no network, or the ignition is off. It is not a fault. |
Power it from the OBD-II Y-cable, a hardwire to the fuse box, or the cigarette-lighter adapter. Azuga says never to use plain USB. Let it run 30 to 60 seconds, and give it up to 5 minutes before you judge the connection. On the hardwire route the kit has an add-a-fuse. The camera fuse goes in slot 1 and the vehicle fuse in slot 2, on a constant circuit only, with the ground on unpainted bare metal.
