The shop says this part hardwires auxiliary devices to the SafetyCam Pro for stable power and data in permanent vehicle installs. No length, pin count or connector detail is listed. It was in stock at $80 on 2026-10-21.
Azuga's auxiliary camera guide says that on an OEM install the splitter plugs directly into the diagnostic port, while on an OBD-II install it goes through a Y-cable. Azuga does not say in the shop text how the hardwire aux connector relates to that OEM wording. We read the two as likely connected, but that is our reading. Confirm it with Azuga before you commit a vehicle, because the wrong assumption means opening the dash twice.
A hardwired install is the one customers rarely touch again. That is where a hardwire aux connector makes sense: delivery fleets, work trucks and vehicles that stay with one driver for years. A good install on that kind of vehicle is routed once, secured well and never thought about again. The extra effort goes into the routing and the strain relief, because nobody will see it for a long time.
The one-at-a-time step is general good practice. Azuga does not say to do it that way, but it makes a fault much easier to find.
Azuga sells it as the hardwire aux part. Whether every hardwired aux install needs it, the shop does not say. Ask before you order.
No. Both are listed at $80 in the shop on 2026-10-21.
Only if a camera sits farther from the splitter than its own cable reaches. Azuga sells 5 m and 10 m extensions.
