The HRN-XGS16K2-LD is Geotab's 16-pin light-duty OBD-II T-harness kit for the GO10 and GO10 Plus, used in cars, vans and pickups. It is the piece that gets a GO10 onto a passenger-vehicle diagnostic port.

The HRN-XGS16K2-LD is a 16-pin OBD-II T-harness kit that connects a Geotab GO10 or GO10 Plus to a light-duty vehicle such as a car, van or pickup truck. The GO10 uses its own connector and cannot be pushed straight onto a light-duty OBD-II port, so this kit closes that gap. Inside the bag is the T-harness itself, part HRN-XBM16T2-LD, plus a set of mounting adapters so the harness can sit where the factory port used to sit.
For a fleet moving its pickups and service vans onto GO10 hardware, this is usually the first harness ordered. It replaces the older HRN-GS16K2-LD, which was made for earlier GO devices and will not mate with a GO10.
Geotab limits this kit to light-duty vehicles: passenger cars, vans and pickups with a 16-pin OBD-II port. The device side is a custom connector made for the GO10 and GO10 Plus, so it does not suit a GO9 or earlier unit. The core connector is the red, 12 V version, and Geotab rates the harness at a power output of 8 to 12 V and 5 A.
The kit description counts 11 mounting adapters. Geotab maps them to makes: North American flange mounts for Ford, GM and Chrysler, a snap-in for Chrysler, a slide and lock style for Ford and GM, a European lock mount for Mercedes, BMW and Iveco, an Asian snap-in for Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Honda and some Ford and Iveco models, a latch and snap style for FIAT, Citroën and Peugeot, plus dedicated adapters for Volkswagen group vehicles, BMW, round Ford ports and Volvo. The harness measures 60 cm (23.6 in).
Across a mixed light-duty fleet, the OBD-II port can be anywhere from low under the steering column to tucked against the kick panel. A device hanging there sits where a driver's knee lands, and a knocked device means lost data or a dash warning. The T-harness moves the GO10 up and out of reach while the factory port stays usable for a scan tool on its own branch.
It also standardises the job. On a lot full of mixed brand vans and pickups, one kit type with the full adapter set covers most of them, so our technicians are not guessing bracket styles before opening each dash.
The vehicle must be parked, secured and switched off. From there, Geotab's sequence is short:
Route the GO10 lead away from the pedals and anchor it so it cannot drop. Keep the whole run, harness plus any extension, within Geotab's 2 m (6.5 ft) ceiling, and never hang a second T-harness off this one. Once powered, we confirm the device is reporting in MyGeotab or through MyInstall before handing the keys back.

On Ford vehicles where the harness rides on the factory OBD-II module, Geotab calls for two zip ties, and pulling them too tight can crack the harness connector, so snug is enough. Some newer vehicles run an Ethernet diagnostic network on pins 3 and 11; for those, Geotab's bypass step is to unplug the 4-pin Molex connectors marked C3 and C5 on the T-harness, and we check the vehicle against Geotab's bypass list before closing the dash. If a warning light or stall follows the install, the device comes out and our technicians diagnose it.
No. Geotab states the GO10 cannot connect directly to a light-duty OBD-II port, so a light-duty vehicle needs this kit or another GO10-specific harness between the port and the device.
It is not the right part. Geotab rates its power output at 8 to 12 V and limits it to light-duty vehicles; trucks and buses take the HRN-XGS16K2-HD instead.
Diagnostic ports are held in the dash differently by each maker. The adapters let the harness take the factory port's place in its original bracket, whether the vehicle is a Ford, a Toyota, a Volkswagen or a European van.
