The GO Focus Plus shows its status through one status light that blinks blue as it powers up and turns solid green once it is ready. This page plays those patterns and gathers the cable, setup and spec facts for owners and installers.
The GO Focus Plus reports its condition through a single status light. Geotab says it has three statuses but prints that table only as a picture. Two patterns are written out in Geotab's text, blinking blue at power-up and solid green when ready, and those are the two we show. Tap any button below to see it and hear what it means.
🔇 The GO Focus Plus has no status sounds. Watch the light.
Easy way to remember it: Blue, booting. Green, good to go.

Each button plays the pattern on the GO Focus Plus above, says out loud what it means, and tells you what to do.
| Light | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Blue, blinking | Powering up after the dash cam and vehicle are switched on | Leave it connected and wait |
| Green, solid | Ready; on a first power-up this arrives after about 4 to 5 minutes | Nothing; carry on with aiming and checks |
Geotab shows the third status only as a picture, so we leave it out rather than guess; our technicians read any other pattern against Geotab's guide on site. The loudspeaker is for spoken driver alerts, not status codes.
Once aimed, the GO Focus Plus coaches drivers in the cab. When it spots distraction, fatigue or tailgating it speaks up right then, and serious events rise to a manager in MyGeotab, riskiest first. Coaching is assigned and tracked there, and event video is kept 365 days by default.
For drivers the routine is short: badge in on the built-in NFC and RFID reader if the fleet uses it, keep the lenses clear, and treat a voice alert as a nudge. A light that is not solid green while driving is worth reporting.
The GO Focus Plus Smart Cable is the one required part. It is 3 m long and connects the dash cam to the IOX port on a GO9 or newer device. An IOX extension cable can lengthen it, but the total run is capped at 5 m. Geotab's rules for that chain:
The GO9 itself stays on its usual T-harness, such as the HRN-GS16K2-LD or HRN-GS09K2-A.

Leave only once the light is steady green. Confirm the dash cam is the last link in the IOX chain and the run stays within 5 m. Recheck both aims with the driver seated normally. Make sure MyInstall shows a pass with the dash cam recorded.
Blue, booting. Green, good to go. Blinking blue means the dash cam is still powering up, and solid green means it is ready, which on a first power-up takes about 4 to 5 minutes.
Those beeps come from the GO9 it plugs into, not the dash cam. Geotab's guide describes two quick beeps every 60 seconds while the GO device sets up and ten quick beeps once its three lights go solid.
Give it the full 4 to 5 minutes on a first power-up. If it still is not green, our technicians check the Smart Cable at both ends, the IOX chain order and the GO device before anything is replaced.
When a GO Focus Plus won't reach green, or its aim has drifted, our technicians bring the fix to your yard and re-aim both lenses with the driver seated. Phone 803-513-1009, or start with Get a Quote.
