The HRN-GA23WIRE is the three-wire power harness that hardwires a Geotab GO Anywhere Plus to the battery and an ignition source on industrial, towed or construction equipment. It runs 160 cm and ships with the HRN-5AFUSEKIT.

The HRN-GA23WIRE is a three-wire power harness that connects a Geotab GO Anywhere Plus asset tracker to an asset's own electrical system. One end is the 6-pin Chogori connector that locks onto the tracker, and the other end is a set of flying leads: red for constant power, yellow for ignition and black for ground.
Out of the box, the GO Anywhere Plus can run on its internal battery alone. Wiring it in changes what it can do. Geotab says a wired unit uses its full tracking algorithm to rebuild trips in near real time, reports battery voltage and ignition events, and draws on the host battery so the internal pack lasts longer. On a generator or loader, that means run time and engine hours, not just a dot on a map.
Geotab positions this harness for the large majority of industrial, towed and construction equipment, specifically the machines that do not use a negative battery disconnect switch.
The harness pairs with one device, the GO Anywhere Plus. Geotab's target list is industrial, towed and construction equipment, and its install guide connects the leads to the battery plus a suitable ignition signal, with the alternator field wire named as one option. The tracker accepts 12 V and 24 V systems.
The cable is 160 cm (63 in) long, and Geotab caps the connected run at 1.7 m (5.6 ft). The kit includes the HRN-5AFUSEKIT. Geotab is explicit that the HRN-2AFUSEKIT does not belong with this harness.
The deciding question before ordering is how the machine isolates its battery. If there is no negative battery disconnect, this is the harness. If there is one, Geotab points to the HRN-GA2EXTPWR instead.
Rental yards, contractors and public works departments share the same gap: an asset tracker on battery alone tells them where a machine is, but not whether it ran. Billing by the hour, scheduling service by hours and catching a machine left idling all need an ignition signal. The yellow lead supplies it.
Geotab draws a useful distinction here. Ignition taken from a key switch shows when the key was on, while ignition taken from the alternator reflects when the engine was actually turning and charging. On equipment where operators leave keys switched on, the alternator source gives the more honest number.

The most common mistake is grabbing an ignition feed that stays live or never goes live. Meter it on and off before connecting. Coat the connector with dielectric grease where it will see weather, and only seal the screw holes with silicone; Geotab warns that silicone around the device base can block the internal battery vent. Thin sheet metal lets self-tapping screws back out under vibration, so choose a mount with real backing. If the light flashes green instead of holding solid during verification, ignition was not seen, and the source needs rechecking before activation is repeated.
Geotab intends this harness for equipment that does not have a negative battery disconnect. Machines that do have one are matched to the HRN-GA2EXTPWR, which adds a chassis connection.
It uses the HRN-5AFUSEKIT. Geotab states the HRN-2AFUSEKIT is not compatible with this harness, because that kit belongs with the HRN-GA2NATRL trailer harness.
Geotab accepts either a key-switched ignition circuit or the alternator, and notes the alternator gives a truer picture of idle and run time. We confirm the circuit reads full voltage with the key on and zero with it off before connecting.
