The GO Anywhere Plus shows its status with a light that flashes white, green or orange after its button is pressed. This page animates every activation pattern, explains each one and gathers the wiring, specs and checks installers need.
The GO Anywhere Plus talks back through a status light only while it activates, using three colors: white, green and orange. Geotab publishes five patterns for that stage. White means the tracker is busy activating, green means it finished and tells you whether it found ignition, and orange means cell service or the GPS fix is missing. Geotab does not publish how many LEDs the case carries or where they sit, so the light position in our animation is illustrative. Tap any button below to see it and hear what it means.
🔇 The GO Anywhere Plus has no sound. Watch the light.
Easy way to remember it: White, hands off. Green, done. Orange: one for cell, two for sky.

Each button plays the pattern on the GO Anywhere Plus above, says out loud what it means, and tells you what to do.
| Light | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| White, slow flash | Activation under way | Leave it alone; no handling and no unplugging |
| Green, solid for 15 seconds | Wired, ignition detected | Nothing; activation is complete |
| Green, fast flash for 15 seconds | Battery only, or wired without an ignition signal | Battery unit: nothing. Wired unit: test the yellow lead and its source, then retry |
| Orange, one flash every 15 seconds | Cell service weak or missing | Move the asset into coverage and press the button |
| Orange, two flashes every 15 seconds | No GPS fix | Clear the sky view and press the button |
The tracker retries a failed attempt on its own; the button just makes it quicker. Geotab lists no red state and no light pattern after activation, so a working unit is checked in MyGeotab, not on the housing.
Once active, the tracker is managed entirely in MyGeotab, with nothing for an operator to switch on. A wired unit that senses ignition adds engine hours and distance to the asset record. Reporting can be set to scheduled check-ins, movement-based updates, or a 15-minute high-frequency mode while an asset is moving, which is the setting for chasing a stolen trailer.
Geotab rates the internal cell at three to five years depending on how often the unit reports, so faster settings shorten that window. When a pack wears out, the replacement must be Geotab's partner kit, since the wrong battery type creates a fire risk; our technicians fit it.
No GO device vehicle harness is used here. The parts are:
Assets that will never have power are often better matched to the Next Gen GO Anywhere. The GO Anywhere Plus product page covers reporting modes.

See solid green with the key on, not the fast green that hides a missing ignition signal. Confirm both inline fuses sit within six inches of their taps and that the black lead lands on clean metal. The keyed connector should be snug plus a quarter turn, the screws should bite into solid backing, and any sealant must stay off the battery vent. Last, confirm the asset reports in MyGeotab under the right name before we pack up.
White, hands off. Green, done. Orange: one for cell, two for sky. Solid green means a wired unit sees ignition, fast green means battery only or no ignition, and one or two orange flashes every 15 seconds point to cell or GPS trouble.
Fast green tells us the tracker did not see an ignition signal. On a battery-only unit that is expected, but on a wired one it means the yellow lead or its source needs checking with a meter before pressing the button again.
Geotab documents no beeps or tones for this tracker. All of its feedback during activation comes from the status light, and after that from the asset record in MyGeotab.
When a GO Anywhere Plus keeps showing orange or never goes solid green, our technicians trace the leads, reposition the unit and finish activation on site. Call 803-513-1009 or send the details through Get a Quote.
