The GO Anywhere Plus tracks trailers and equipment on a three-wire hookup or on its replaceable battery. Wired, it reports near real time, logs engine hours and can read nearby Bluetooth tags.

The GO Anywhere Plus is Geotab's hybrid asset tracker. It can be hard wired to an asset's electrical system with three connections, or it can run on its internal Li-SOCl2 battery where there is no power to tap. That flexibility is the point of the Plus: one device covers a powered generator, a reefer trailer and a non-powered flatbed, all reporting into the same MyGeotab account as the trucks that pull them.
When wired, the device senses ignition and records engine hours and odometer distance, which is information a battery-only tracker cannot provide. It also carries dual-band GNSS and an LTE CAT-1bis modem, and on the North American model, select carriers offer direct-to-cell satellite connectivity as a fallback where the cell signal drops out.
Equipment rental yards. Rental companies bill on run time and need to know when a skid steer or light tower leaves the area it was rented for. Engine hours plus geofence alerts handle both.
Contractors with powered attachments. Generators, compressors, welders and pumps sit on job sites for weeks. Motion detection shows which ones are idle so they can be moved to the next job instead of renting another.
Trailer fleets with mixed power. Refrigerated trailers with their own electrical system get wired, near real-time tracking, while dry trailers in the same fleet can run the same device on battery.
Service fleets carrying tools. A wired unit in a utility trailer can act as a Bluetooth reader for tagged tools, catching the toolbox that never made it back on board.

The wired install uses the HRN-GA23WIRE harness: red for constant 12V/24V, yellow for ignition and black for ground. Geotab notes that an alternator ignition source reflects true run and idle time, which matters on equipment that does not have a conventional key circuit. Verify both sources with a meter, then fuse the constant and ignition leads close to the tap using the HRN-5AFUSEKIT holders. The unit needs a clear sky view without metal overhead, a solid backing for the self-tapping screws, or the optional ACC-GAMAG magnetic mounts. The harness connector is keyed; tighten it snug plus a quarter turn and use dielectric grease if it is exposed. If the screw holes are sealed with silicone, keep it off the mounting face so the battery vent stays open. At activation, solid green means wired with ignition seen; flashing green means the ignition lead needs another look.
The GO Anywhere Plus fits assets that have power some or all of the time and where engine hours, faster reporting or Bluetooth tag reading are worth the wiring. It also fits fleets that want one tracker model across powered and unpowered equipment.
For a dumpster, roll-off container or dry van that will never have power and only needs an hourly location, the Next Gen GO Anywhere offers a much longer battery life with no wiring at all. Highway tractors and service trucks with a diagnostic port are better served by a vehicle GO device.
No. Geotab requires wired external power for tag reading on this device, along with firmware 132.3.13 or later. A battery-only install tracks the asset but not the tags around it.
Yes, with Geotab's partner replacement kit, which we source and fit. Geotab warns that the wrong battery type creates a fire risk, so this is not a hardware store swap.
Geotab says a battery install with screws, bolts or ties is simple enough for many customers. The wired install involves fused connections to the asset's electrical system, which is the part our technicians handle on site.
API Signal brings the GO Anywhere Plus, fuses it into each generator, trailer or machine on site at your equipment yard, and confirms every unit reports before we leave. Phone 803-513-1009 or open Get a Quote to line up the work.
